It's a charming place on its own， with lots of good restaurants and small town charms. We had the best borscht at this restaurant Schafli, and a great time visiting Sammlung Oskar Reinhart Gallery where there were many Cezanne, Renoir, Van Gogh and other masterpieces to appreciate.

Fantastic city break with access to nature, culture and local wares. Bring or rent a bicycle to make the most of the surroundings too! 4 days was almost too short. Do not miss the Fotomuseum, the cycling alongside the many green ways, the delicious ice cream parlour Pura Vida and the many bars and cafés throughout the city. Winterthur is a 25 min train ride outside of Zurich.
Winterthur is a 25 min train ride outside of Zurich. We stayed here as the hotel was affordable for a group of 5, and we wanted to see some of Zurich’s countryside! The town has a myriad of shopping choices, and if you are not into shopping, it is lovely to walk through the Old Town and enjoy the quaint old town charm!

We only stayed there 1 night so there is not enough time to explore the city. It is a good place to stay for those who plan for a sightseeing in Zurich or Rhine Fall or Stein am Rhein. There is a lot of shops nearby the Winterthur station. There are a big Migross (open up to 20:00) and one CO-OP that opens to 23:00. The area near the station is pleasant and quiet. I feel safe. Pedestrian friendly.

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very new. The hotel is in a perfect spot in Winterthur, close to the train and close to the old city. At first we weren't sure if we would get to the hotel before the reception closed because of our flight, so the staff just emailed an easy access lockbox code so we could get in. We eventually made it on time anyway!

Our room had a view of a beautiful, very quiet courtyard. The room was small but comfortable, with a cosy balcony. Everything in Winterthur is within walking distance from the hotel. Staff was superfriendly. As a very surprising plus: the hotel also hosts an arthouse cinema and all guests get tickets for free. We ended up watching _Phantom of the open_ to kill time during a thunderstorm.
