This is an ideal vacation location for a family, if you are looking to stepping outside your comfort zone as a English speaker within West Africa. The visit to the zoo was interesting for my children, and even me as an adult.
We enjoyed the local dishes.

I met very lovely and helpful people all the way from arrival.
Yet the same, I can say otherwise of others I encountered (esp. some cab / yango drivers) who took advantage of my newness in the place and inability to communicate in french. Some drivers took me round in circles before getting me to destination - I presume, just to inflate my bill. One other driver took me to a whole different destination and it took the kindness of some worker of the Red Cross (Crouix-Rouge) to reorder a new ride and ensure my safe arrival at intended destination.
My worst nightmare was when on my 2nd day, the yango driver kept driving in opposite direction of the map's suggestion, with reason that he was avoiding traffic. I took my aggression plus a phone call to a known contact in the place to get him to pull over. Once again, another very sincere cab driver came by and upon speaking with my contact person and the hotel receptionist, got me gently to my hotel.
All these, and more, are experiences that I have learned from.

Abidjan is a vibrant and dynamic city where modern life and local traditions blend harmoniously. Its energy is immediately felt through its lively neighborhoods, diverse culinary scene, and the warm hospitality of its people. The Ébrié Lagoon adds a unique charm, offering stunning views, especially at sunset. The city is also marked by continuously improving infrastructure, reflecting its rapid development and growing regional importance. However, some further efforts in traffic management and urban maintenance could enhance the overall experience even more. Despite these minor challenges, Abidjan remains a captivating destination for travelers seeking authenticity, cultural discovery, and meaningful human connections.

The food is excellent, both the local and continental.
The food is excellent, both the local and continental. Their pastries are not to be missed! I loved Chez Ambrose , for local food and ITC for coffee. The cabaret shows at West were spectacular. Ivorians are also very nice, kind and unintrusive. I loved Abijan and would love to revisit.

Abidjan is a beautiful city.
Abidjan is a beautiful city. But note that there are traffic jam which can keep you on the road for hours. Avoid the areas with high traffic and use the Henri Konan Bedie Bridge to avoid traffic especially when coming from the airport.

Beautiful city between modernity and traditions. The food is great and locals are so nice. I recommend coming to abidjan and visit other cities in Cote divoire. The country is rich in culture and history.

Fantastic value stay in Abidjan. The room was very comfortable, good WiFi, and the hotel is located back off the main street in a seperate gated side street, so it is very secure and quite, but close to a bit of a livelier atmosphere once you go to the main street. Safe parking for my motorcycle on the side street in front of the hotel, and they can also arrange secure parking elsewhere for an additional fee. 10/10 - Highly recommend.

Another great stay at Abidjan’s best hotel with my wife and baby. Koné at reception was lovely, as were all the hardworking staff. We enjoyed lunch and dinner in the restaurant on our previous stay. This time we also enjoyed the delicious and healthy buffet breakfast.
