I love the climate, the friendly people and the food.
I love the climate, the friendly people and the food. The neighborhood restaurants are really nice and great value, especially Azul in Chapinero. Traffic can be a problem due to exhaust, noise and jams - it'll be great when the metro is built out - but that's not a showstopper.

Get around was pretty easy but can became very expensive with all the taxis one needs to take in order to get around. the average cost per ride is about $15,000 peso. With that said there is a lot to see, and to do.
The big letdown for me, and keep in mind that this is my only option, and that was that hype of see the Catedral de Sal just wasn't all that spectacular to me. Therefore, I found it be very simple as well as boring, and a waste of time and money.

Colombia gets a bad rep in terms of the safety of visiting, but I can assure if you have common sense it will be fine. Just don't flaunt your jewelry or accessories, and only take out your phone when needed. Always check your surroundings. If you can do that you'll be fine.
On to the good things about Bogota - easy to navigate in the metro, delicious food, lots of things to explore, and my favorite everything is so affordable. My uber trips started at .72 cents and maxed out at about $7. Would suggest Bogota to any of my friends or family. Will be back soon.

Like other big cities the roads and traffic are horrible. Arterials cut across the city with limited pedestrian crossings. Sidewalks downtown are broken, a tripping hazard.
I recommend visiting smaller towns and flying longer distances between cities. Medellin to Bogota, less than 400 km apart, took 12 hours by bus. Many highways are only two lanes, often in mountainous terrain with many curves. Larger trucks climb slowly and back up traffic unable to pass.

I really loved the facilites of the hotel, the rooms were excelently equipped, the personal served With excellence. The food of the restaurant was so delicious and the price was very good. Also I need to remark the attention of the reception team, of the restaurant team añd of the room maintnance. Finally I algo need to mention that the hotel is very well located in Bogota. I give a 100/100 to the hotel. I Will stay there again this week. I recomend this hotel to everybody visiting Bogota.
I've been saying it for a while and will continue. It's the best hotel to stay when making a layover in Bogota. Close the airport, free shuttle to and from the hotel to aiport. Good breakfast included in price, they take care of you and your belonging with an smile. This time we used laundry services and luggage storage and was excellent.
I stayed at the Ibis Museo 3 times during my time in Colombia and each time found it a very comfortable and well run hotel. Its fantastic value for money and located opposite the National Museum, ideal for the main Bogota sites. Staff are courteous and efficient and the onsite taxi service gives safe transport options.
I stayed at this hotel to spend the night between flights.
Located in a nice area, midway from the airport and downtown Bogotá.
Basic, but nice room decor.
Free shuttle to the airport (every hour, though), around 15 min from/to the airport without traffic.
Fast check-in and check-out.
This was a great hotel for an overnight stay after arriving at Bogotá El Dorado in the evening.
The airport transfer shuttle was very efficient with someone at the arrivals to help with information.
The hotel was modern clean efficient and comfortable. Good breakfast also.
