Almost everything was terrific! The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfy, and there was a great breakfast buffet. The only downside is that both mornings of our stay, it seemed like only 2 out of 4 elevators were working, so people had to wait 15-30 minutes for a turn on the elevator. The stairs would be difficult for people with luggage and/or kids. But we loved our stay there and would definitely consider it again for future stays!

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.
Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.
The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.
Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.
Amazing, beauty in every direction you turn.
Great transport system and a bonus for anyone 65+ is that you travel for free on all transport, just have ID with you showing you DOB. This also means from the airport as the 59 bus takes you to the Metro line A, change at National Museum for Metro Line C if you need to. Quicker than the Airport Express coach.
Wear comfortable footwear, a must as you must see everything.

Stunning city with so much to see.
Stunning city with so much to see. Excellent public transport system meant getting around was very easy. Would definitely like to stay longer next time. The walled gardens were beautiful, as was the palace and castle. Highly recommend doing the nuclear bunker tour with Pavel - a fascinating look at Prague’s past.

Fabulous old City steeped in history, but too crowded for us. Had I known that the streets and old historical sites were overcrowded with people to saturation point I would have stayed away. As my dear departed mother used to describe such overcrowded venues…’Hell with the lid off’…! Maybe we picked a busy time in mid May, such a pity.

Although it is riddled with tourists (myself included), this is a beautiful city - breathtakingly beautiful, even, full of history in every corner. I particularly liked the Kakfa Museum - unlike everywhere else in Prague, it was actually relatively quiet.

I can highly recommend trying a sauna ceremony—if you want to attend two back-to-back, just ask when the ceremonies start and plan accordingly. We went to one at Sauna Spot and another at Sauna Central. Sauna Spot offers breathtaking views of nature and the Vltava River right from the sauna during the ceremony. Sauna Central, located in the city center, is more of a luxury experience, featuring not only a Finnish sauna but also herbal and infrared saunas. Each of these experiences cost about a third of what you'd pay in Denmark (where I’m from), so my only regret is not going more often!
I also highly recommend: Vinicni Altan for its incredible 360° views of Prague and its selection of delicious local wines and beers. Hit the Botanical Gardens if you are in Prague in Spring/summer, its gorgeously in full blossom.
Go to National Museum if youre into rocks/meteorites and animals- the display is so vast, so make sure to plan to be there up to 3 hours. Dont forget to check out the rooftop!
If you love Georgian food, SUN.DAY is a must—it will not disappoint. And for the best coffee and pastry experience, stop by a Paul bakery location.

Prague is a very busy city welcoming lots of tourists to the ‘hotspots’. We enjoyed researching and finding the quieter places to enjoy in the city. It is worth learning how to use the tram system to save time moving around during a short stay.

Hotel reception was very attentive - best service we had in years, if you needed something it was attended to very promptly and confirmed as well. Breakfast was to die for, not the usual continental selection but properly cooked meal and more of a very good quality restaurant food so absolutely worth it. Location is superb - a bit off the center but 5 mins walk to Old Town Square and close to everything really. In short - brilliant!
The location was ideal at this hotel. The old town square was just 10 minutes away from the tram and the tram station is just beside the hotel. There are many restaurants and fast food restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. The staff are also very good and address your concerns promptly. The break fast was good but could have been better. However, considering the price, it was good value for money. I highly recommend this hotel.
Second stay at the Hotel Central and it was great again. The room was cosy and overlooked the yard so no street noise. There was construction work going on outside but it did not impact my stay. The build is historic and you can read about its architecture in the breakfast room. It's conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square.
Location excellent, close to the tram or metro station, about 30 minute from de Old Town Square. Breakfast really good, with a lot of options for everyone. Room was nice, actually we liked the entire hotel's interior design. All there was well organized. Congrats!
