Beautiful and spacious room. The entire hotel is squeaky clean and smells good. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit in the mornings. The location is perfect, within walkable distance to the train station and landmarks. Definitely would stay here again!

The staff was very kind and welcoming. The room was spacious enough. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. No issues with parking. Only 10 minutes walk to the Old Town. Beer in the hallway was a great bonus (paid but not expensive). If I am ever back to Bamberg, I am staying in HOB.

Bavaria in All its Glory

Bamberg is the epitome of everything Bavarian: half-timbered houses, medieval splendour and heavenly views. Due to its overwhelming beauty, it’s almost surreal to wander its cobbled streets and drink it all in.

Speaking of which, Bamberg has a surprising number of breweries and inns serving its signature Rauchbier. Most are dotted around the UNESCO World Heritage-listed, pedestrianised historic centre - once at the heart of the Holy Roman Empire. Emperor Henry II ordered construction of the 11th-century cathedral and is buried inside.

His empire’s prince-bishops had it good, and their former seats are scattered over the city. Their Old Palace courtyard has wooden balconies adorned with bright flowers. The New Residence is even grander, with opulent halls reflecting the rulers’ wealth. Michaelsberg Abbey – the bishops’ private monastery - is on one of Bamberg’s 7 hills, and on the highest is Altenburg Castle, another ruler’s abode.

The modern seat of power – the town hall – is the most incredible building of all. Spanning 2 bridges over the Regnitz River, it partly hangs above the fast-flowing water and is overlooked by the colourful Little Venice fishermen’s houses.

Franconian beer. Bamberg and even better in the surrounding towns you will drink Franconian beer. And your life will never be the same. Bamberg incredible, the surrounding towns even better, get to the Kellers (Griess Keller and Sauer Keller for example).

Bamberg is an interesting old town, with lots of charming...

Bamberg is an interesting old town, with lots of charming buildings. The natural history museum has some amazing fossils and is well worth a visit. It is not very big, so an hour or so geat. Lots of places to eat and drink. Bamberg is famous for its smoky beer! The view from the Neue Residenz is worth the walk and there is a pleasant cafe in the rose garden, where one can rest and enjoy a coffee and cake, an ice cream or a drink.

We stayed in Bamberg for 10 days and never found ourselves bored. From exploring beautiful historical sites, strolling down cobblestone streets, lunching in one of the numerous cafes or hotels and scoffing of delicious cakes there was so much to see , do and learn. I was also pleasantly surprised at the amount of both high end and affordable retail outlets there were in the town.

Bamberg is a very historic city and it has many unique stores, restaurants, cafes, and many places where you can find wonderful ice cream and ice cream desserts. It’s not a huge city so you can get around pretty easily by walking or taking a bus.

Bamberg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. It has important historical significance, wonderful architecture, and is very clean. We frequently recommend Bamberg to visitors to Germany. They are never disappointed.

Bamberg has so many sections for exploration!

Bamberg has so many sections for exploration! The many unique shops make this a more than 1-2 day experience. I would highly recommend the food, beer and sightseeing as you can experience not only historical points of interest, but find extremely creative talents woven into the very fabric of the town. It is easy to get around Bamberg once you arrive by foot, bus or taxi. Late night snacks are not a problem as there are 24/7 self-service snack kiosks in the town.

The location is perfect for visiting Bamberg, you're right in the heart of everything. This is a lovely little hotel and I would stay here again for sure. Bamberg is a beautiful place and you won't go wrong with staying here. They don't have a breakfast facility within the hotel, we used Cafe Miller and this was very good.

This hotel is located in the heart of Bamberg so it's a very convenient location. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of food to choose from. My room was very spacious with ample room and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
