The hotel is a 2 stars hotel, but actually it is great value for money. It is very clean, they offer free coffee and tea, and in great location. Although they say they do not offer parking, we were lucky to find one of the 4 parking spots available. They also say that the rooms have no ocean view, but from our small window we had a harbor/sea view. It does not have a reception desk, but this is not a problem since the person that picks up the phone is very helpful. We were quite happy with our stay there.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. You can really feel how much thought and care the hosts have put into making it feel like a home. They even contacted us beforehand to ask if we would like to check in early. We didn’t need to, as we were arriving later, but the gesture itself really showed how thoughtful and caring they are toward their guests. The location was great, check-in was very easy, and overall we felt very welcome. We had a lovely stay and would happily stay here again.

Lovely spacious room. Big windows let in lots of light (with great shades) natural wood, plants, and a super comfy bed with cotton sheets. Cereals, yogurt, beverages provided. The host brought us cinnamon rolls from bakery around the corner (excellent) with kind congratulation message. If you’re looking for hygge, look no further :)

Svendborg is a great place to visit after the hustle and bustle of Copenhagen. The town has plenty of restaurants and very good shopping. It is easy to navigate and has a very active harbor with ferries to the surrounding islands. It is very walkable and parking is plentiful. We stayed 3 nights and could have enjoyed more.

Svendborg is a lovely seaport with great seafood.

Svendborg is a lovely seaport with great seafood. During the summer the harbour is filled with many interesting old, wooden, sea craft and there are many restaurants and bars close by. A ferry to the neighbouring island of Æreø departs from the harbour every 1-2 hours. The small town of Ærøskøbing on this island is well worth a visit. This place is like something out of a Walt Disney movie. Cobbled streets are lined on both sides with beautiful houses all of which seem to date from 1700-1800's with odd ones dating back even earlier.

Beautiful little town.

Beautiful little town. We arrived on a Friday late afternoon and it was great to be in a lively city after days in the country side. We really enjoyed walking around the harbour, where there was plenty of choice for drinks and food. Downtown was lovely too.

There was breakfast, just in the name of the ccomodation, Excellent, most beautiful environment on a small island, very quiet. Big appartment on the first floor of what used to be a hotel and restaurant. 3 comfortable bedsrooms and a huge living room with kitchen facilities. Nice old building, big billird table downstairs in the lobby. Enough free parking. Very friendly owner, whose hobby it is to collect beaautiful old sportscars. He used to drives and win rallies, but now prepare racing engines as a hobby.

Amazing hotel and stay! The building itself is beautiful and elegant, and the lawn outside facing the sea was such a picturesque place to chill and relax. The building has a charming old fashioned feel but rooms were very well outfitted and super comfortable. And I must say the staff were one of the best parts of the stay! Everyone was absolutely lovely and friendly and go above and beyond to help you. Breakfast in the hotel was top notch as well. Can't recommend Stella Maris enough!

Vi bookede 2 overnatninger i dobbeltværelse med eget bad, som led af en rejse gennem Syd-Danmark. Selve hotellet er ganske udmærket for pengene. Værelset var fint og rent, og sengene var ok - madrassen måske en anelse til den hårde side for vores smag, men andre ville sikkert være uenige. Øvrige faciliteter var meget fine. Veludstyret fælleskøkken med mulighed for opbevaring i køleskab var en positiv overraskelse, og der var masser af siddepladser både inden- og udenfor.
