The location itself is good, however this is a residential property with various apartments please be aware that when you book apartments in this building you will not get an apt no assigned, there are people who have various properties and they will pick and choose what apartment to give you and you may end up getting apartment A306 which is horrible.

The Host is a real Host, Ricardo is really welcoming each Guest just like a Family member or Friend. He speaks English very well too and takes care of each moment to satisfy the Guests' needs. The food is really good, take the local dishes from the kind lady and the recommendations to have some custom
Italian-Dominican mixture and a big sip of Italian coffee. It may be not the cheapest food around but you get all value instead of jeopardying and illness. As well the transit and everything was very safe which is also important, the Owner can be trusted. Who is social, outgoing but respecful too.
The coast was also more than nice, somewhat not the cleanest but pure nature, big waves and very scenic views! Just like (from) the perfectly managed garden of the hotel.
The room was super nice too and more than clean, no any bugs, etc. The bed: comfortable. Aircon also made well.
If every investor in tourism would be like Ricardo, the industry would just rise.

This is not a tourist town.
This is not a tourist town. The local restaurants are authentic and delicious. It has a beautiful wide beach and gentle surf. Perfect climate. The beachfront properties are well maintained. But the village is not walkable. There is uncollected trash and unpaved alleys for streets. For now, it is still a treasure if you find the right hotel. We did.

I've stayed in both the "bad" and the "good" parts of Juan Dolio and cannot recommend either. The beaches in this area are far too dirty, for one, and the local grocery shops (colmado) have a very poor, limited selection of vegetables and meat. This was my third Dominican Republic vacation, and if I return, I will be going to the Bayahibe area again (especially Cadaques Caribe).

1 -The performance area must have the option indoors in case it rains or bad weather
2- The disco / dance and karaoke area is very very small to be a resort
where you will enjoy, celebrate and dance! On the occasion we went (December 6 to 13) the area for those purposes was a small bar, the area was very nice but there was no room for more than 15 people there, and our group was 21!
3-maybe we went at the time of remodeling, because where was the casino? I never heard any promotion or invitation

I have been coming to Juan Dolio for over 10 years and I am afraid it is time to move on. I believe the pandemic has hit this area pretty hard and many local places have closed. I was here a year ago and I believe that things are worse now. Fewer tourists now, buildings less well maintained.
I did not feel as safe as I used to feel around town.

Timeshare style apartments.
Timeshare style apartments. Previous guests on our stay were disgusting and thankfully one cleaner sorted everything out. VERY BASIC accommodation, but okay for two nights or a very rustic holiday as easy access to pool and beach for kids.

White sand and clear water.
White sand and clear water. You could see fish while swimming, giving young kids a great encouragement to swim.
This is an artificial beach, and as such is not as nice as a natural beach. It was a little dirty with algae, not a lot of space to swim before you run into the reef and barriers.
Hodelpa exceeded our expectations for our 1st anniversary! The staff is super nice and accommodating and the food is excellent. Saturday night was lively and the entertainment was so much fun. The all inclusive food and drinks won’t disappoint. The pool is huge so if you don’t want to be in the swim up bar atmosphere, you can relax on the other side. Kids also have their own activities and Entertainment director. They put on a cute show. I also loved the shuttle to Juan Dolio beach.
This property is located on what is now the current extreme eastern edge of Juan Dolio. It is directly opposite a very nice restaurant where I have a had several meals. I believe all the apartments are ocean view, mine had a very nice floor to ceiling sunshade which totally blocked the morning light. Bed was comfortable, Shower was ok, not great, towels available for the pool, everything clean. BTW - No english TV channels.
These people got out of bed at 10 pm to meet us, after we had been looking 8 hours for our actual reserved hotel ... After being in the surf, I was covered in sand, and housekeeping came to mop the floors ... and one picked up my sandy swimsuit on the balcony while I was in the shower, and washed it until the sand was completely out. The view was nice. The room was nice. The balcony was nice. The light was nice.
The hotel is very beautiful, the staff is very friendly and attentive, the food is very good, the restaurant on the beach I loved, the place is very clean and organized, there is a lot of security, cleanliness, and good options to eat since it has 4 restaurants, it is close to the city and the airport you don't have to go that far to spend some pleasant days on a good beach and good facilities
property was as described - when I arrived, I was not greeted nicely (more like "what do you want") instead of a nice (welcome, do you have a reservation) - room was ok and had a fridge- beach outside the hotel is not very nice - some nice places to eat nearby. Had trouble with a taxi when I left, there was another gentleman at reception and he was helpful
This is like my fourth stay at this hotel and it is truly my favorite, I come back at least twice a year just to feel like home away from home, the staff is very helpful and the facilities I beautiful Alex is one of a kind and you must try the outdoor poolside Bar and Grill, a great addition
The apartment is in excellent condition and tastefully furnished. The kitchen is adequately equipped, including a blender and a coffee maker. The property itself is in a very quiet, peaceful location with 24-hr front gate security. The Emotions beach is a 10-min walk door-to-beach.
The staff, location, customer service, cleanliness, beach, location. The hotel’s restaurant was delicious and sufficient not to make me go anywhere outside. We had issues with AC, and they immediately handled it without the issue becoming an inconvenience.
When it was raining one day the roof was leaking. There wasn't closet to put your things in. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location good for local transportstion to the capital Santo Domingo and in the other direction to San Pedro de Macoris.
the outside beach front and pool area, the superior rooms with balconies. The entertainment staff near the beach was very friendly as well as the excursion representatives that work with the hotel.
If you liike to escape the overcrowded all inclusive resorts and are looking for something special where you feel like at home this is the place to go. Roberto is an exceptional host.
