I enjoyed being in Santo Domingo for its arts, culture, and tourist sites. Visiting Ágora Mall was a great experience, the people were friendly, the beach was amazing, and the food was delicious. I only stayed for 2 nights whilst waiting for rearranged flight however i booked the flat on very short notice late at night and the hosts was very welcoming and friendly. The accomodation was nice and suited my needs for a short term stop. I didn't explore Santo Domingo so cannot comment on the area although i did walk 10 minutes down the road to the supermarket for essentials.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0

The Colonial Zone is OK and feels safe but i don't wander outside of it too much. Traffic is just horrible in Santo Domingo, congested and aggressive. Unfortunately there are no flights into Samana from USA now. Otherwise i'd skip SD all together!Guest review byAnitaUnited States
