Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.
The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.
East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.
If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.
Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

Cairo is total chaos, the traffic complete craziness.
Cairo is total chaos, the traffic complete craziness. BUT....
it is one of the most fascinating cities on earth.
I have always felt safe. Love the shopping, cafés, restaurants and the great bakeries.
Don't be discouraged by the madness, dive in and become part of it.

Cairo is a busy, crowded, dirty/trashy city.
Cairo is a busy, crowded, dirty/trashy city. There are many very rude, aggressive, dangerous, oblivious drivers. The basic rules of driving are not recognized, there is little/none driver courtesy. There is no yielding to pedestrians, be very careful if you have to enter the street and always look both ways regardless of the designated direction for traffic. The street tempo of Cairo is hectic at the very least. The air is terribly polluted and generally unhealthy to breath. There are many nice, friendly and considerate Egyptian people, but they are often over shadowed by the mindless drivers. There are some modern shopping malls, however they mostly have the same stores. Many of the stores offering imported products are leaving or have already left Egypt. Depending on your agenda Cairo has several distinct areas, if you can afford a $250-$500 a night hotel you would be comfortable in any of these areas, it is safe in all but a few places. You should consider what you want to do in Cairo and arrange your hotel accordingly, the less you travel Cairo by auto the better you will like it. My favorite area in Cairo is Katamaya/West Golf, in this exclusive compound you can walk the streets day or night, go golfing on a championship course, have fine dining and completely forget you are even in Cairo.

Cairo is an amazing city of activity, culture and nightlife.
Cairo is an amazing city of activity, culture and nightlife.
The people are warm, welcoming and always ready to help.
People say hi just to say hi, and they help without a secondary agenda. (sometimes they expect payment but not obliged to unless specified by your guide/hotels)
The city is bustling with activity and you always feel safe.
I think what travellers need to remember is that it is still a 3rd world country and many things are not like what you might be used to. Eg, cleanliness of bathrooms/places in general, everyone speaking good English (though it was pretty impressive), public transport availability and accessibility.
Things to take note:
1. Use UBER, even at the airport. The pick up station is at the carpark and you will see this instruction when you log onto the app and request for a pickup.
2. Carry some amount of cash > as I said this city is still developing so some places don't take cards and the machines might not always work (We were at the Marriott Garden and it didn't work)
3. It's very dusty (you're in a desert!) so wise to take wet wipes to help clean places and also yourself.
4. Bring a bottle of water > it is the desert as i said and also you might need it to clean your hands/face.
5. Whilst it is still a tourist place, for women i would suggest to dress not too provocatively. Respect the area you're in.

The cultural sites are fantastic and will wow you at every turn. Definitely visit the museums and points of interest - there is a lot more beyond the pyramids. The food is great and extremely affordable, however if eating at smaller and less fancy places, watch out for cleanliness/hygiene as that may be questionable at times. Be prepared to be harassed and haggled (no physical interference though). Tourists are frequently and incessantly haggled for 'tips' (even for asking for directions, or using a public bathroom etc) and do not let anyone take a photo of you as a gesture unless you are prepared to tip them, especially at the 'major attractions!'. Cabs are incredibly cheap and ubers are plentiful. When visiting the far out sites it is adviseable to pay a driver for the day to ensure you are fetched timeously etc - drivers are very cheap in any event. When paying for anything (outside of malls), the price will always be negotiable and it is almost expected that you will ask for a discount, go very low and work your way up. Crime is almost non-existent, in almost every area so don;'t be afraid the wander the streets and go with the flow. Just make sure you have phone battery to use maps to navigate back to where an uber can find you. Do your research and plan the trip as Cairo is enormous and some sites are very spread out so try plan days accordingly. Wear tons of sunblock. English is relatively well spoken however in some instances it is almost non-existent, so factor that in when trying to interact with people. I would recommend wandering the streets of Old Cairo, visiting Khan el Khalili market (caution, you WILL be harassed incessangtly), Giza, all of the museums, wander the streets of Zamalek at night near Tahrir Square, take a cruise down the nile and sip a cocktail at any hotel bar on the river side. Keep sanitizer as sometimes hygiene is questionable at a lot of the sites.

I really enjoyed my time in Cairo & made the most of my 5-days there, visiting places like Old Cairo, Islamic Cairo, Giza, & even a day in Alexandria. The people were friendly, and my tour guide was very knowledgeable, which made exploring the ancient cultures even more interesting. I'm looking forward to my next trip to see Aswan, Abu Simbel, and Luxor.
Just opened two weeks ago.
Completely new renovated 5 star hotel.
Magnificent view of the pyramids from our room.
Reception : the staff at the reception was very helpful , very kind .
Great thanks to the Director of food and beverage:
the breakfast is of high quality products. The staff was very attentive and the Director was asking our feedback.
Location: you are in king Faisal street facing the pyramids : 6 km of shops, restaurants opened till after midnight , banks, etc
Conclusion: we were very happy to discover this hotel.
The view of the pyramids. It has the best view and probably the closest view to the pyramids and the gates of the entrance of the pyramids are probably 50m away . Outside the gates of property is little dusty but that normal because you walking to the pyramids. Mohammed replies quick and is super helpful. Theres another Mohammed who works for him and I asked him about restaurants close by and he walked me directly to the restaurant. Honestly service was better than the 5 star hotels I stayed at . If I come back I’ll definitely stay here
For the price it was a very good stay. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was filling and adequate. The hotel itself and my room in particular were clean and well maintained. The view from the rooftop was really amazing and picturesque. Also, no one at the hotel bothered you, or asked you for advice, unless you specifically asked them for something. If you visit Egypt you will soon learn that this is a huge positive aspect. Overall, if you want a safe and nice place to stay at a cheap price, this hotel is a good choice. Thanks
The staff was so wonderful. Some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met. They were really helpful with scheduling things to do and making sure all the guests were taken care of.
You really cannot beat this location. Walking distance to many restaurants and the pyramids. You can see the pyramids from the roof. Some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen.
Also the driver the hotel set me up with was the best. He was so sweet and funny. Customs at the airport took forever and he waited for me for an hour with no complaints.
One of the best hotel in cairo clean and freindly staff always helpful and smiling especially mrs lamia receptionist she is very welcoming with her beautiful smile
The hotel has many nice facilities including big swimming pool ...spa service and gym a bowling and the most important one is starbucks next door with a Lot of restaurants and cafes all around the hotel over all it was very nice experience for me and definitely i will stay back in this property when visiting Egypt again
this hotel is ran by the most respectful and helpful staff I've ever encountered; Mo, Sayed and others went above and bevond to make us feel comfortable. The rooftop taurant is a hotspot for view of the pyramids. they serve delicious fresh juices (recommend fresh guava juice!) and the best grilled chicken Mohamed used to offer the most beautiful tours of trips inside Egypt. Upon arrival, you could ask about the trips 🐪🐪
Stay here if you want to enjoy Egypt, it's like staying with your family
+ The host and staff are very accommodating. Host arranged our private tours. Great Egyptian breakfast every morning and the staff are very helpful with everything. They helped us to get anything we needed. Pick up & drop off from/to airport. Staying at this hotel made my time in Egypt great. Comfortable, safe & secure accommodation.
Best hotel ever, I have stayed in many other hotels and I did not find the comfort, security and good service I found in this hotel, it deserves more than 5 stars! The location is excellent, as the wonderful view of the pyramids of Giza directly from the room and the statue of the Sphinx, and I thank all those who helped me in this place, and finally the cleanliness of the rooms is great❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The first time I visited Egypt and I was very lucky (this hotel is clean and the service is amazing and the people who work there are always trying to help. I did tourist tours in Giza and Alexandria and they were amazing at a very good price. Many thanks to Mr. Khudari who arranged everything for us and who is one of the best people we know In Egypt, many people thanked him for everything
One of the standout features of Pr Pyramids Inn is its convenient transportation services. Randa arranged cheap transfers for us to explore the entirety of Egypt, from the bustling streets of Cairo to the serene beauty of the Black and White Deserts. Additionally, the small touches like finding tea, coffee, and water in our room added to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the hotel
Staff is Very Friendly and Cooperative , and they do not hesitate to Extend any Support
The Restaurants available make you 100% Satisfied , and you do not have to think about going out search for Good Environment and Food
Breakfast is Reasonably Good , and The Hotel provide Transportation To/From Airport which is very Convenient
I enjoyed a fancy Pool View Room
Room was spacious and quite quiet despite was next to elevator. It's really the perfect hotel to stay if you have an early flight out, breakfast starts at 4am. Personnel at check-in, housekeeping and airport shuttles services, were friendly. Uber could come directly to the hotel and very cheap to get into Cairo Centre for sight seeing (ie. 20mins to Citadel).
Youssef is the best host I have ever met
Regarding the hotel, the Egyptian breakfast is amazing, the view from the room is incredible
Imagine when you wake up with the pyramids in front of you from bed
I want to thank all the employees for their efforts Definitely one day I will come back again
Great location all shops and resturants are around immeditlay outside the hotel. The cheap and trust transportation from / to the airport. Mr. Josef (one of the staff) is very good and helpful and can answer any question you ask for your stay. The toilets were always clean and available .
Best place in Giza !!! I recommend at 100% this hotel. Good price for an amazing view, very confortable room, the owners are extremely kind and the food is really tasty
First time in Egypt that I found a very clean hotel for a cheap price.
3mn walk to the entrance of Pyramids
Hotel is very well located if you want a place near the airport and outside the busy streets of Cairo, it has good facilities and restaurants and a wonderful spa with mostly local Egyptians working in it, definitely a good pick if you want a stay nearby Cairo airport
Abdul met me at the airport with a great smile and friendliness and took me for a great tour!
As a solo traveller, I felt very safe at the hotel. The traditional Egyptian breakfast was great!
The rooms are spacious and clean and have a great view of the pyramids.
I am used to this hotel and have been a regular client as guest and visitor to the facilities either the restaurants or the spa
It is still maybe the best in cairo in terms of decency and cleanliness
One of the best hotels i have ever stayed in and thank you mr.hesham for helping us making a good touring plans for visiting many interesting places in Egypt
