Great location in a very pretty town. The owner is very reactive and gives you the information for the keys before you arrive. The apartment is clean, tidy and contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are very spacious and comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. We forgot a personal item in the apartment and the owners send it back to us within a week.

We had an amazing time! It was sad to leave. Ivo was an incredible host. He was helpful and empathetic. I have never felt more welcome and taken care of! We got a lot of tips from him about restaurants and activities. Very helpful. Place was VERY CLEAR! Including pool areas as well. There is no words to describe the view! We spend whole 3 days around the pool because Ivo created a paradise there we just didn’t want to leave. If u want to cook you find everything there! All kinds of forks knife’s bowls and plates. Grill with the view was also amazing, you have all equipment you need there! This place deserves more than 10 starts.

This hotel was a real find. The location was great. Located strategically to access El Caminito del Rey, or Marbella or other towns in the periphery. If you wanted to just relax in the beautiful environment stay back and enjoy. The pool was fantastic, the grounds well cared for and the owner, Olvier was, what can we say? A true jewel. He serves great dinners, prepared by his partner and has an excellent collection of beers from all over the world. You can enjoy the evening, under the stars, sipping your wine or beer. Nothing to distract you, complete relaxation! Also, Oliver is well connected to agencies that can help you get tickets to El Caminito del Rey or to a restaurant. He knows the area well and what to us was important, he knows the history of his own property and the area in general.

Beautiful Spanish town with lots of tiny back streets to...

Beautiful Spanish town with lots of tiny back streets to walk with whitewashed houses. You can walk to the 9th century Arab castle that is set on the hillside and overlooks the town. It is currently undergoing restoration. Plenty of coffee shops and places to eat. Alora has a chill vibe with friendly people. We ate at a local restaurant La Taberna del Caminito, enjoyed the Tapas and pork dishes and the prices were reasonable.

A typical Andalusia white village, great facilities including shops, restaurants, banks, a castle with some wonderful walks. Be aware the train station is on the outskirts of the village. We have been coming to Alora for over 15 years and continue to enjoy the village & sounding area.

It has stunning views and is very Spanish.

It has stunning views and is very Spanish. It's not really a tourist hot spot, so there are far more locals than visitors, which in my opinion is very welcome. Good mixture of bars and restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Close to stunning walks and hikes.

Alora is a fabulous place.

Alora is a fabulous place. A bit hilly but after a few days we were up the steep slopes like a 16 year old. Plenty of options for food and bars but you will easily find 'your local' People are friendly and if you need help there'll be someone yo help you out. Easy transport to Malaga and every where but Alora has everything for day to day living..

very traditional whitewashed villge come small town. A couple of interesting historic sites. Doesn't really cater for tourists in the evenings - takeaway or chinese is about it. Transport needs to be looked at carefully so you don't get stuck somewhere you can't easily get back from.

We booked for a week, but if staying longer, would have travelled further afield by train, to see more of the area. Plenty taxis nearby to get to and from the railway station. Alora is a hilly village, we took a taxi up to the Castle and walked back. Went to the bakers every morning for fresh bread, and the various fruit shops to get our fruit, and two quite big well stocked supermarkets, and a butcher shop

Beautiful, spacious apartment. A lot of thought has gone into the furnishings and kitchen equipment. Really comfortable beds and sofas. I particularly liked being in the residential area of Álora. There are lovely, inexpensive restaurants within a 2 minute walk. We particularly loved the pizza at La Fontana. Sol del Río has a lovely view of the river and Álora from the back tables. Private parking is a bonus. The whole complex is very well maintained and secure. The owner is very friendly and enquired often if we were okay by messaging.

We stayed there before going to Caminito del Rey. Alora is a very beautiful town and Hostal Duran was good for our one night stop. You have to leave the car in a parking in the city center, which is not far (500 m), is almost impossible to stop in the front of the hostel because is a narrow one way street. Nice staff. Is a 2 star hotel, just to know what to expect. We had a gorgeous view of the castle from the balcony, Staying there with a wine in the evening or a coffee in the morning is great.

We loved how peaceful the location was. The villa was spotless and the kitchen had everything we needed (well more actually). The terraces for sunrise and sunset were a highlight for us. The villa is a little remote, so you do need a car to get to Alora.
