Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.
Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.
The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.
The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!
I loved walking around Cadiz by night. You can literally get lost in the tiny streets of the old city (especially if you leave your phone on charge and no longer have google maps!!). There are hundreds of curiosities hidden in those streets. Local bars that stay open late into the night...
It's easy to walk around the waterfront of Cadiz, which is an island, from the port on one side to the cathedral and beyond on the otherside. Views changing all the time. There is a shortcut, but the sea view walk is far better and things to discover along the way.
You've got to explore Cadiz, it is very old indeed...

The city is very compact and accessible on foot. There is so much atmosphere as you explore the history and architecture of so many wonderful buildings including churches, museums, theatres, a bullring and much more besides.
The port is busy and buzzy and offers many boat trips.
The people were very friendly and helpful and it was an unforgettable experience. A jewel of Spain!

The old town is wonderful, not slick or over-restored like Seville. Great places to eat.
It's a little awkward to get to but worth it when you do.
Almost complete absence of Irish or English Tourists make Cadiz feel more attractive (ironically to an Irish tourist!). Got a slight sense of hostility from some of the Maitre d's - although never bad service. Probably due to our dreadful Spanish.

Loved Cádiz. It has everything.
Loved Cádiz. It has everything. History, old town, nes town, great beaches, parks and fountains. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from and friendly people. Feels safe and easy to get around either walking or public transport. Would have loved another couple of days as it’s also great vase for getting to Gibraltar and sons of the beach areas in the south such as Tarifa. Fabulous promenades practically all the way round the city.

We spent four days in Cádiz and it seemed to us that we timed it just right (the same for the three days we spent in Jerez). Fascinating, narrow, old-style streets, a good museum, interesting cathedral and the usual rich selection of bars and restaurants. Overshadowed by Sevilla, Granada and Córdoba, but definitely worth a visit. Make sure you walk the length of the promenade along the seafront.

Our favourite was an excellent traditional flamenco evening in a local bar. The old town is inconvenient for.a car, suggest parking on the outskirts and walking in to the old town, it is small and very walkable.

The hotel is very conveniently situated within walking distance of the best places to see in Cadiz. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed with the added bonus of tea and coffee making facilities provided. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Just right for a short stay in the beautiful city of Cadiz.
I've stayed in hostels before, and I was surprised by the dorm beds, very private and comfortable with sockets and usb outlets. Of all the hotels I've stayed in cadiz this place has the best beds and pillows so comfortable. If you're on a budget, I recommend this place for sure you will enjoy your stay.
Our room certainly had the wow factor, at least five meters to the ceiling and very spacious. Comfortable beds. Super clean. Professional and friendly staff who gave useful tips on city activities. We can highly recommend this hotel and lovely Cadiz!
The staff made us feel welcom. Breakfast was fine. Rooms are comfortable. Parking nearby in parkinghouse (ask hotel) or on street (costs daytime). Walking distance to sea, and why not to Cadiz city center by promenad. Hotel is simple, but nice.
Lovely rooms, really clean and a fantastic sea view. Great location lots of bars and restaurants in the area and a nice walk along the promenade into Cadiz old town. A handy bus into the centre from outside the hotel also
