Totally perfect view! Peaceful and quiet place and had a very friendly service and smiling staff. Room was quite small, but that was well informed at first place. Strong recommendation especially for backpackers, there are lots of different paths around Juncalillo :)
Boasting a restaurant, bar and views of city, Hotel Emblemático Agáldar is situated in Gáldar, 2.2 km from Boca Barranco Beach.

The beauty of the location, the hotel and surrounding buildings were superb. Inside the hotel there was a spacious upstairs lounge for quiet reading or conversation. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were both pleasantly decorated, with appropriate space for luggage, clothes, washbags etc. There were fantastic french-windows, with a small balcony overlooking the plaza and effective wooden shutters that blocked out any light for sleeping.
We did not chose to eat breakfast, preferring to indulge in the many delicious nearly bakeries, but we dined twice in the hotel restaurant, where the food and wine were of excellent quality. We also enjoyed the hotel roof bar and sun loungers, which were surprisingly well protected from the wind.
The hotel was in easy walking distance from several interesting museums, cafés, shops and restaurants, where one could mingle with the friendly and helpful locals (despite our lack of Spanish!). There were also nearby bus stops from which one could travel very cheaply to several places around Gran Canaria, including beach locations.
Located in Gáldar, 300 metres from Punta del Faro Beach, Vista Mar Sardina offers accommodation with free WiFi, a balcony or a patio and access to a garden and a year-round outdoor pool.

The apartment is very quiet, the view and the sunsets are beautiful. Far away from the crowds, this is the perfect place to relax. The apartment is very spacious.
Carmen made every effort to make my stay as pleasant as possible, she even organized a taxi for me.
Offering barbecue facilities and garden view, Chalet Vacacional El Agujero is situated in Gáldar, 29 km from Parque de Santa Catalina and 2.3 km from Cueva Pintada Museum.

Galdar is a fascinating town with a beautiful centre containing many shops, a market, lots of cafés, bars and restaurants, a play area, museums and a huge, traditional church. The local people are really friendly, helpful and polite.

Gáldar is a more traditional town to stay in.
Gáldar is a more traditional town to stay in. The streets are tight like an old Spanish town should be. The center square is busiest in late morning and early evening. The square has many restaurants to try for Spanish/Canarian traditional fare. The location is easy access to the main road to other locations on the island. The best part is not being a tourist location where there are too many people. One suggestion is to touch up on your Spanish before going because there are fewer multi-lingual speakers in this town.
We would go again to this town.

A very nice little town at the north-western part of the island, close to the sea and quite far form the touristic crowds. Very beautiful nature, close to astonishing nature park. Perfect place for people who prefer nature and culture.

Galdar is the old capital of Gran Canaria.
Galdar is the old capital of Gran Canaria. It has beautiful historic buildings and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere away from the main tourist sights. The main reason we wanted to stay in this part of the island was the see the archeological excavations revealing the original dwellings and the famous cave painting. The museum/site is modern and the guided tour is well worth booking.

Worth visiting. The former capital of the island.
Worth visiting. The former capital of the island. Santiago Apóstol Church, market square, town hall with a charming theater hall (!). Archaeological Museum, which is basically the archaeological site of Cueva Pintada. Ha, ha... and the cherry on the cake. Those traveling by car will find the parking lot by entering "Aparcamiento La Quinta" in the navigation system.

Galdar is a pleasant little town, with a nice historic center. About 2.5 km from El Agujero, which is quite a tolerable walk among banana plantations in good weather, but it is better to go there by car.

The apartment is spacious, has everything we needed and is close to the beach. You will find a mini market in front of the house and restaurants nearby. Thanks to plenty of parking spaces, it is a great base to explore the north east of Gran Canaria. We recommend going to Agaete and Galdar for museums, el Roque for a unique settlement on a rock between crushing waves, and going to the nearby nature reserves on the mountain for hiking.
Lovely boutique hotel, in an ideal location for visiting the museums of Galdar and Centro historico. Co.fortabl beds, stylish decor, quiet and peaceful with pleasant, light courtyard. Helpful staff and generous delicious breakfast. Only marked down on value for money as this was expensive for me but very much worth it for a little luxury.
Good location near city center Galdar. Parking area on road and also big paid near by. There are at least 4 rooms. Cozy and stylish decorated . Possible to cook if needed. Some snack for breakfast, fruits, tea, coffee etc. Very nice.
Key box to get in.
Ideal for a 1-night stop (I was walking the camino de santiago trail that crosses the island and needed a night in Galdar), but I imagine it would work as a location to explore the north coast too. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
A very spacious and clean house, perfectly equipped at the walking distance of the Galdar central square. Easily accesible by car. Close to a beautiful sandy beach and sea pools. Very friendly host.
