Everything was great. It was my mistake to have a dinner at Pinar Plaza only the last day of my stay - the beef was incredible. Special thanks to Vanessa - the most energized and the most positive staff member (all staff are energized and positive, but she is the most), hope next time to see her in new role in the hotel and wish her all the best in her career.

FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

The modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Prado Museum holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For a more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses works by Picasso and Dali.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city center from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place to stay for your Madrid holiday.

My wife lived and did her university degree in Madrid 45 years ago. As it is my first time in Madrid, my wife showed me places where she spent her time, how she lived, how she interacted with the people and how she went through her studies as a foreign student. We stayed for a week and we took a walking tour with a great informative guide! The city is safe ...police monitoring regularly and Madrilenos are very helpful. The city is cleaner than Switzerland. As it is a food culture city, most of the restaurants where we ate are always satisfying...reasonable prices and food was delicious. As it's a walking city, you never ran out of things to do and sights to see.

Madrid is a great walkable city, beautifully decorated with lights and trees everywhere at Christmas. Loads of cafes, bakeries and restaurants for everyone's taste! So many museums, so much shopping, plus extras like attending a flamenco show or taking a day trip, make a week seem too short! Easy day trips: Segovia, Escorial, Toledo, Alcala de Hernanes (Cervantes birthplace), etc. Museums: Prado (no pictures allowed!), Thysse-Bornemisza (Leger, Picasso, Hopper, O'Keefe, etc), La Reina Sofia (must-see: Guernica); la Sorolla (closed for renovations when we were there) Walks: Retiro Park, la Gran Via (shopping) Restaurants: Las Cuevas de Luis Candelasa (underneath Plaza Mayor)-traditional, old-style restaurant, takes you back in time and serves delicious Spanish dishes! Vietnam 2013 de Letras (such great seasoning of their vegetables and delicious fresh spring rolls); La Caracola -best cheesecake and pastries I've every tasted! Flamenco with dinner and/or drinks at Flamenco des Leones Madrid-exceptional musicians and reasonable price; Special occasions: Three Kings Day is Jan 6 (eat roscon!) and the parade and fireworks are Jan 5-definitely go to Plaza Cibeles for the fireworks at least!

It's not fair to judge a city by the craziest week of the year when it is is overrun by visitors of all descriptions. Madrid maintains its elegance and individuality while its closest rival seems hell-bent on become just another tourist Theme Park.

Stayed 4 full days. Madrid is awesome. Fully recommend.

Stayed 4 full days. Madrid is awesome. Fully recommend. Big, city vibes, endless energy till late night, late night shopping going on in Gran Via and the nearby streets. Great food, nightlife and nice art museums. Retiro Park is a must, watch a flamenco show somewhere, have tapas, drink sangria and walk the city, feel the energy. I loved it. Gran Via with its big screens and energy reminds of a small NYC. They call it Europe's Broadway and for good reason. I would love to go back again in September and focus more on nightlife. Also, very easy to get around Madrid. It is walkable and if you want to go to farther destinations the metro is easy enough to navigate. Tapa Tapa is a good tapas bar on the Gran Via street (even though it sounds touristy).

In my opinion 2 days max are quite enough for Madrid proper. But I would recommend day trips from Mardid to Cuenca, Segovia, Toledo, Avila and El Escorial, i.e. I advise you to see Castille la Mancha and Castille y Leon - most interesting.

The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting Madrid city centre. If you need to take the metro, this is 3 mins away walking distance. Room was clean and included a kitchen corner. Super recommended and good value, considering that you will save time and money by being already in the centre.
