The birthplace of Picasso is as colourful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place amongst the youthful square of the old centre, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga’s most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 10 km from the centre of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your sunny holiday.
Beautiful vibrant city! I visit regularly and it never disappoints!
This time I introduced a friend and she will definitely be back-she loved it as much as I do.
There are so many lovely restaurants and pretty streets. We had tapas and cava in the centre and walked to the port for a cocktail.
We had one day at the beginning of our holiday when we were getting a train from Maria zambrano then had one night on our way back before travelling to the airport to go home but we really enjoyed our time there.
The tube is also fantastic. Clean and convenient and only 15/20 mins to Torremolinos beach.

Fabulous historic place of culture, architecture and tradition and yet so lively in the bustling old town narrow streets. The Streets are very clean and the buildings are well maintained. There is something for everyone and new places and experiences can be discovered at every visit.

It's an incredible city, lots of things to visit, great infrastructure and not that crowded (in the beginning of June). I hope they don't get sick of tourists like the people in other major cities of Spain.

The Cathedral was beautiful and Malaga full of history.
The Cathedral was beautiful and Malaga full of history. We eat at El Pimpe which was very busy but great fun and delicious, but you have to book. By change as we love steaks, we saw a restaurant with a meat locker. It was called Lo Gueno de Strachan. The meat was amazing.

Location was perfect - in the middle of the old town close to everything from bars to restaurants and cafes
Accommodation was ideal - a good size and better than any hotel room.....not that we were in the room much as we spent most of our time seeing Malaga
The staff were very friendly on arrival and even upgraded us which was very kind and appreciated. We just came to Malaga for the weekend and the location of the hotel was absolutely ideal, close to the airport, short walk to old town and the marina.
Lovely clean, modern boutique hotel in great location for exploring Malaga. In the old town close to bars, restaurants and Malaga attractions. Helpful, friendly staff. Lovely breakfast buffet with a wide selection x
Would recommend this hotel !
Beautiful Hotel, perfectly situated in the old town of Málaga. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff was very friendly. Salad for lunch at the rooftop restaurant nearby the small pool was delicious as well.
Nice large comfortable room, lovely balcony with superb view. Location 20 minutes walk from old town Malaga but that did not bother us. Cheap taxi back to the hotel in the evening if you prefer not to walk.
