It is a quiet and appealing little town with a good choice of places to eat and drink. A good baker and three supermarkets to choose from. Buses (cheap) and the excellent Fred Olsen Express ferry service can be used to travel to San Sebastian, Valle Gran Rey, etc.

If you want nightlife and action, this is not the place for you. A gentle sea side location with enough restaurants to keep you entertained in the food department.
Beach is black sand and pebble. Gentle shallow water.
There are shops to buyy provisions (at least 2 supermarkets) and a post office but not much else in terms of shops. Nice hand made jewellery shop (although a little pricey)
Ideal base location for touring the island

We stayed at the Hotel Jardin de Tecina which is a great base for exploring the island. The property is beautifully maintained with lovely gardens and good food. There are some very nice places to eat in Playa de Santiago - but our favourite is TASCA ENYESQUE. The food is delicious! It's easy to get round on foot as Playa de Santiago is quite small but a car is recommended for exploring this beautiful island.

The best tip I can give for a visit to Playa de Santiago is you must eat at the restaurant called Juan Gonzalez. The food is absolutely delicious. We ate there 3 times in one week! Playa de Santiago is a great base from which to explore the island and the beautiful walking trails. We loved the hotel Jardin de Tecina - which makes the perfect base.

Nothing too curious to tell about this place.
Nothing too curious to tell about this place. It is quite and I think you don’t have to go to La Gomera for this village. If you come to La Gomera, rent a car and know that there is a lot of hiking going on on the island. The village is a nice place to stay and near the airport.

It is a charming little town and very peaceful, but not very much to do there. You have to book tables at the restaurants beforehand because there are not very many places to eat. Only had dinner at Don Tomate and the food there was good. For lunch one day we ate at Bar Cafeteria Los Castaños that had some nice sandwiches. The third place we tried was the bakery Pasteleria Lelo. Some places was closed during Christmas. We would have liked to try out Restaurante Kuss, but could not get a table there.

We arrived later than expected due to a later ferry but the reception was still open and we were warmly welcomed by staff at Reception.
The sea view room was lovely and well worth it for the views of the sunrise from the balcony, or just sipping a drink on an evening watching the world go by.
The rooftop pool and sun lounge area was also really nice and gave great views of Playa de Santiago.
All in all, a lovely place to stay and will definitely be back.
The apartment is new, equipment is new. The pool was nice and the internet was exceptional (fiber). Communication with owner uncomplicated and direct (Whatsapp chat, in English), and even though we arrived before the official check-in time, we were immediately accommodated.
The location (in central Playa de Santiago) was convenient and parking plenty (a huge lot is right next to the apartment building).
I liked a lot this place and Playa de Santiago was my favourite place in La Gomera. Apartment is simple but with everything what I needed. View from the terrace was beautiful. It's quite location and place. I had some problems with my booking ( when they charged me few times ) Owner was nice and cooperative and helped me to resolve this problem with Booking. Thank you for nice stay and help.
We had two superior double rooms which were spacious, light and nicely decorated. The beds were super comfortable with high-quality sheets and good pillows. The staff are very kind and helpful and we found the breakfast buffet to be one of the best we have ever had in a hotel.
