The flat was very nice and clean. Spacious and everything we needed was there. It is a big apartment block and the building it self is very worn and old fashioned. Not very cosy. The outdoor facilities are also worn and aged. Breakfast was scheduled for 9 in the morning, but there was no breakfast at 0915. Since we had to go to the airport, we did not want to wait for it to open.
Set in Sitio de Calahonda and only 2.2 km from Playa de Calahonda - Riviera, Mirador at Island Resort offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Muriel was an excellent host and accommodated us for all our needs.
A short taxi to the local shops and restaurants was handy. You could walk if you don't mind the hills.

Getting into the apartment was a nightmare! Luckily we had family with us that spoke Spanish otherwise we would not have got in till after 6pm when our check in was 4pm. First man on the phone didn't speak any English.
Room was lovely, well decorated, bed was comfy.. However Alot of ants! Milk provided had gone sour and there was no water in the pool. We had a good holiday over all but wouldn't stay again.

Sitio de Calahonda was a good area to stay with good restaurants nearby and you could use the broad walk to walk along the seafront between resorts, really had every required for an enjoyably holiday to do as much or little as as you want.
We were there for a family wedding which was held at El Oceania which was out of this world, the restaurant there is well worth a visit and another fantastic restaurant was Olivia’s in La Cala

This area is is a great jumping off point to all the things to see and do in the area from the white towns in the hills to beaches, golf, shopping. It's halfway between Marbella and Malaga, easy to see both. Along the coast in the area is a superb boardwalk, great for walking, exercising, stopping for food and drinks. There is a nice beach here, the area is not too overcrowded while being in the middle of everything Costa del Sol has to offer.

Calahonda is a great base for accessing the Costa Del Sol...
Calahonda is a great base for accessing the Costa Del Sol resorts. We don't feel the need to hire a car as the buses are quite reliable and cheap and there are a number of bus stops on the main coast road (A7). Be aware that some stops are quite remote and poorly lit at night. We used the Leila Playa stop which is next to Lidl and also the Camping Los Jarales stop which is closer to the centre of Calahonda. We also used Uber taxis for getting around. The price starts from 7 euros. We went to Cala Mijas which cost just over 10 euros to get there and approx 12 euros to get back, which is very reasonable for 4 people.
There is a lovely little bistro/cafe called Mona Lisa, which is situated at the back of Lidl. It has a very good menu at reasonable prices and the staff are really helpful and friendly.

Large, clean and modern apartment.
Large, clean and modern apartment. Everything worked well, and the apartment was very well equipped. Lovely views of the sea.
What we loved most about Sitio de Calahonda was the wonderful boardwalk by the beach. The beach is very, very clean.
The owner's representative was most helpful, and waited for us to arrive with the apartment key, even though we were very late due to a slowdown on the freeway (accident) and delays with the car rental company.
The apartment is well located to quickly access a toll highway for fast convenient access to other parts of the Province and Spain.

Sitio de Calahonda is conveniently located on the Costa del Sol. There is a large selection of different restaurants and it is convenient to the beach and coastal walks. Sitio de Calahonda is convenient to La cala, Malaga airport, and Marbella.
