I had a delightful stay at this boutique hotel nestled in Valencia's charming Old City Center. The rooms were immaculately clean and elegantly designed. It felt like a cozy home away from home. The staff at this hotel is exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to their unwavering professionalism throughout my stay, I felt like a valued guest. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries, and their genuine friendliness and welcoming nature made my stay even more enjoyable. The restaurant is a culinary delight! I had the pleasure of trying their breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings, and each meal was a feast for the senses. The breakfast spread was extensive, with a variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from. For lunch and dinner, I highly recommend booking in advance, as this spot is a magnet for both locals and tourists alike. The bustling atmosphere in the restaurant added to the overall experience, and I could see why it gets busy.

Valencia FAQs: Tips for every trip

A Walk Through History

As the city that brought paella to the world, Valencia is a culinary delight. Don't miss out on sipping fresh, local orange juice or enjoying tasty tapas in a sidewalk café.

Wandering this relaxed city is like taking a walk through history. From the Roman remains in the archaeological museum to the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, the architecture ranges from the dramatic to the sublime. A mix of styles from the outside, medieval Valencia Cathedral comes into its own inside. The gilt carvings and vibrantly-painted dome are a sight to behold.

The greatest triumph of city planning is the Turia River Park. Created on the bed of a redirected river, it provides much-needed shade in a city with an impressive sunshine record. Of course, you can always cool down on the fantastic beaches, lapped by warm Mediterranean waters.

Former hosts of the European Grand Prix, Valencians take their sport seriously and so they should. Try to take in a match at the 75,000-seater Valencia FC stadium to experience the electric atmosphere.

As Spain’s 3rd largest city, Valencia has wild nightlife, so if that’s your cup of tea, city center hostels are a great choice. Alternatively, Booking.com also has guesthouses, central apartments and even hotels near Valencia Airport.

Valencia is great as a tourist as it is quite small so everything is walkable. There's the towers you can climb for an excellent view point, go see the Holy Chalice in the cathedral, or the beach is only a bike/bus ride away! And so many food options, including the markets. We spent 3 days in Valencia, which allowed us to take time to wander the streets a bit more and see some of the awesome graffiti and hidden history. Good for being a tourist, but didn't feel like we really got immersed in local life so much (tourist shops everywhere etc). We also purchased the Valencia tourist travel cards, which made transport to/from the airport as well as around the city super easy, and gave us free entry to multiple venues.

We stayed in Valencia for a week while attending a sports event. It’s such a beautiful city, and it’s a shame I didn’t get the chance to explore more of it. I’d definitely come back without hesitation to see everything I missed. That said, for me personally, a week is probably a little too long for a city break. I think you could comfortably experience many of Valencia’s highlights in just a few days. One thing I definitely didn’t have enough time for was sampling all the amazing patisseries, restaurants, and bars. If you visit, make sure you try Aigua de València—it’s a delicious local cocktail and absolutely worth adding to your list. We also discovered a fantastic little patisserie called Butter on Carrer del Gravador Esteve in Eixample, which is a must-visit. The Ruzafa neighbourhood is packed with incredible bars and restaurants, with so many great places to choose from. Finally, we stumbled across a real hidden gem for tapas: Casa Vani on C/ dels Cavallers. It was one of our favourite finds of the trip.

Very nice city, particularly the old quarter. All the major sites are easily walkable within 5-15 minutes when staying centrally. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to shopping or dining out. Perfect city for enjoying a coffee or dining al fresco. Avoid the summer months from later part of June through September when it can particularly hot and humid.

Well, I have mixed feelings about Valencia, but I'm very glad I visited. I arrived by bus, and the station was rather grim, especially compared with the elegant railway station opposite. From there, I walked through the park in the old riverbed to my accommodation. The City of Arts and Sciences was absolutely stunning and definitely worth visiting. I also loved the riverbed gardens—they were peaceful, full of beautiful bridges and impressive trees that provided welcome shade. However, the paths were confusing and poorly signposted. Cyclists and people on scooters often shared the same routes as pedestrians, making it feel rather unsafe at times. Despite this, the park felt safe overall, which I appreciated as a solo traveller, and I enjoyed relaxing in one of the cafés with a refreshing granizado. The beach was much larger than I expected, so I skipped swimming and instead walked along the promenade and port. Beforehand, I had a late breakfast at a chiringuito. It was enjoyable, although quite expensive. I also visited the old town, which was smaller than I'd expected. While the architecture and main square were beautiful, many surrounding streets felt a little neglected. I enjoyed an excellent horchata at a recommended horchatería, but I was surprised by how many attractions were closed on a Sunday during the tourist season. Poor signposting throughout the city also meant I got lost a couple of times, making Google Maps essential. I'd wanted to visit Valencia for a long time, and I'm pleased I finally did. I enjoy exploring on foot, but when I tried using the buses, I found the route maps surprisingly difficult to understand—even as someone who lives in Spain and speaks Spanish. There also seemed to be a lack of information on places of interest too, which seemed like another missed opportunity.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel a lot. This is a hotel which truly deserves the name ‘boutique hotel’. Very nice interior, small but very nice, staff is very friendly and extremely engaged and committed to make our stay very special. The breakfast was really nice, food very good and the orange juice phenomenal. We also had dinner there once and also enjoyed the food and the cocktails. If we come back to Valencia, we would stay again here. Location is great in the middle of old town.
