Everything! I felt as though I had discovered the best boutique hotel in the entire Loire Valley! This place I would recommend to anyone considering staying anywhere remotely near Saumur, even if you don't plan to see much of Saumur. It is so close to so many great little restaurants and boulangeries, not to mention the castle. This hotel felt like staying at the home of a rich relative. From the moment we arrived until the last second of being there, we were amazed at the quality of this hotel, and all at a very reasonable price. The rooms were quiet, clean, comfortable, well stocked, etc. There was NOTHING here I could criticize. I have stayed at many many hotels in France, and this one tops them all. I am not exaggerating.

What a lovely Chateau, comfortable, beautifully kept and well loved. The breakfast was delicious with many options, served in the large dining room, the table beautifully set. Monique was so kind and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the house very clean. Wish I’d had more time to spend here.

The historic Le patio is a great choice for a romantic stop. The owners are attentive hosts. Our room was tastefully decorated and the bed super comfortable. Plenty Electrical outlets, good WiFi and a nice size fridge. The sights, restaurants around town are very walkable. Breakfast was simple but lovely with several types fresh bread, jams, coffee, apple juice, fresh fruit and yoghurt.
They have secure parking for our bicycles in the courtyard.

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I interacted with several of the staff and it seemed to me that they often went the extra mile and did so in a friendly manner. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, way more choices than I've seen anywhere else! Train station is right across the street if you're traveling by train.

Sylvie and her husband were so very helpful and friendly. They directed us to a restaurant just around the corner and we had the best meal of our 3 weeks in France! The room was enormous and thoughtfully appointed with everything anyone could need. There is a biking trail along the river right across the road. A huge plus is being able to easily park our car directly across the street.

Saumur is a beautiful town on the banks of the River Loire, with many restaurants and places to visit. The whole area quite lovely with many unspoilt villages and towns nearby. It is a very good base to tour the area visiting many of the Chateau of the Loire Valley.

Sparkling Saumur wine is the best - and not expensive, find out more at the Maison de Vins d'Anjou et Saumur where there are free tastings.
Don't miss lofty Saumur Castle - it's free to walk around it until 22:30 in summer. Fabulous views and a cafe (although closed late at night).
Best restaurant is L'Essential and it's not too expensive for excellent food. La Bourse near the Opera House is also worth trying. I was disappointed by the Auberge de Saint Pierre in town - average food and worse service.
Beware the midges that swarm around street lights by the river, don't leave your hotel window open in the evening or they'll be in your room.
Nice little city, convenient for chateaux visits

Beautiful location on the banks of the Loire, the riverside is amazing, with a very impressive chateau. Not a lot else going on in the town though, and the main chateaux of the Loire are quite a distance away. Some nice locations for eating, drinking, and wine tasting though.

We arrived on a Saturday evening in November.
We arrived on a Saturday evening in November. Good shopping facilities nearby and if we had been there earlier in the Autumn, there would have been lots of places of interest open to visit. Chateau de Breze, did state on it's literature, that dogs were allowed. We drove there to see it, only to find a notice in English, by the door by the Reception, saying all dogs must be carried inside the Chateau ( unless visitors have a very tiny dog, this basically rules out a 2 hour visit, so the information needs to be updated please, otherwise, people may be driving a long way to visit, only to find they cannot go in) We only stayed in this area on Saturday and Sunday night, so just had a nice relaxing rest in the Studio where we stayed, Domaine equestre de la Chenaie.

Our stay was good, modern room with good shower and bed.
Our stay was good, modern room with good shower and bed. The bar was pleasant and the food good, the staff helpful. The only downside was the approach was shabby with rubbish bins and overgrown grass. The sign was damaged so we couldn't see it. so missed it first time round the roundabout.

The chateau is beautiful, as are the views along the Loire.
The chateau is beautiful, as are the views along the Loire. There are other attractions close by, including chateaux and wine caves. Robert et Marcel are about 15 mins drive away and do a great value and very informative wine tasting tour.

Beautiful hotel, ideal location for visiting the Loire, hotel is a short drive from Saumur. Hotel has a lovely pool with loungers, although we didn’t use due to the weather. Our room was spacious and beautiful and the bed was comfortable.
A continental breakfast is served in a lovely conservatory, there was plenty of choice and everything is beautifully presented.
Hosts were very helpful and made restaurant and attraction recommendations.
Lovely, helpful staff, basic hotel with very clean rooms, free parking, basic breakfast with decent coffee. Five minutes drive to Saumur, we found it perfect for a pitstop on our way to Caen.
Extremely welcoming hotel in a perfect location for both Saumur and the Loire generally. Very comfortable room, great breakfast and good on site parking
