Beautiful city with lots of history. The Cathedral was breathtaking. The old town had beautiful architecture & history. The people were friendly & helpful. Sadly like most cities people were begging for money & sleeping in shop doorways. This is a sign of the times in most cities.

Public transport works well, ticket machines at tram stops, some buses crowded. The train connections good. Favourite places: the city centre, the cathedral, the basilica, the castle, the high street along the trainline. For Charles de Gaulle use the train that goes through St Pierre des Corps.

This was our 3rd trip to Tours. Other times we concentrated on the various stunning Chateaux of the Loire valley. This time we centred on the town itself and loved every minute.!! The restaurants and sites are lovely.

We stayed 4 days and had rain on all but one day but we found plenty to do nonetheless. Hired a car locally and went to 3 vineyards and to Amboise and the Chateau du Clos Lucé. We found foodie gifts to take back to friends and family at Tours indoor market. Lots of very good restaurants in Tours to choose from and we all said we could see ourselves living in this lively and historical city. No negatives at all!

Lovely hotel near the city center of Tours: great location! Easily reachable by car, with a secured parking lot, and just a walk over the Loire to go to the city center. Owners and service are lovely, providing great information to get you around in the city, e.g. with a great list of interesting restaurants. That list is really worth checking! Beds are comfy and breakfast buffet is great.
The room was small and basic, but very very clean and well decorated, i have used a lot of budget hotels when driving between the UK and southern France. And this is by far the best to date. Friendly, courteous staff and a really good value breakfast at only 8.50€. The.built in usb points next to the bed were a refreshing touch. Will definitely book again.
The hotel is in an excellent location enabling easy access to the Old Quarter, cathedral etc. It was surprisingly easy to drive to with sat-nav from north or south. No problem with parking. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.
I have regularly used the cheaper hotels on my journeys in France and I think this has been the best so far. It was worth paying a little more for the more comfortable room.
