The well-located hotel is affordable and delivers a straightforward hotel experience. At this price point, the room meets expectation. I arrive at midnight and the staff was very welcoming, and was very easy to work with when I called ahead to notify them. They help me reduce the stress of a late arrival.

We were on our way to Spain and needed a one night stop over...

We were on our way to Spain and needed a one night stop over, it was a nice apartment that we used for one night going and one night coming home to the UK. Alencon food and bars outlets all shut around 10.00 pm as we found out, getting there too late, we didn't make the same mistake on our way home !!!!

Alencon is a nice short trip away from Paris if you want to...

Alencon is a nice short trip away from Paris if you want to see charming local architecture. Some of Alencon is perhaps a bit depressed, but the historic elements are very pretty. I wish that i had stayed 2 nights rather than only one!

Very enjoyable weekend - strolling around the old town, looking at historic buildings, cathedral, art museum with its gallery devoted to lace making. Beautiful autumnal walk by the river. Impressive castle. Friendly and helpful tourist information office.

Eat at La Suite but make a reservation beforehand. The old part of town and the shops are good. it is easy to get around Alencon on foot. We visit often because it is a good stop over on our way further south

I was there to go to the cour d'assizes and travel around...

I was there to go to the cour d'assizes and travel around southern Normandie. The town was extremely walkable with delightful shops and everything you'd expect in a smallish French town. Les Deux Marguerite shares space with the Chateau des Ducs, part of which dates to the 12th century and has a lovely park. Don't forget Pedro's, the chocolate shop and tea shop where I took afternoon tea and met Pedro's wife and business partner, Huguette. Three generations of absolutely delicious chocolate. There's an impressive cathedral, the river Sarthe and La Briante, a delightful stream/brook that runs by the chateau de Ducs and Les Deux Marguerite. I really need to go back there.

This hotel is long overdue for an overhaul, room needs redecoration and updated facilities. We have stayed here four times a year for at least 10 years as it’s so convenient for the A28. Perhaps it’s time to look for another option!

Excellent value for money, probably the best night we had on our way from France to the UK. It was reasonably priced, easy access, safe parking, good facilities and spacious room. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we were in a hurry, but there was coffee and tea in the room. The receptionist was very helpful and kind! Would definitely recommend it.

This was a convenient stop for us on the way to Poitiers. It had a quaint atmosphere unlike some of the bigger chain hotels and we enjoyed a very nice meal in the hotel garden. Our room was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed. There wasn't any Aircon but there was a decent room fan.Given the price we paid we were happy to stay here.

The hotel is an old manor house situated in the centre of the old town and within walking distance of the main square and, Chateau les Ducs. The atmosphere within the hotel is quite casual and we were welcomed and looked after by the owner. Everything was as advertised on Booking.com. We had a good continental breakfast.

Ideal location for a first stop in France or last stop if returning to the UK. Breakfast is fine and staff friendly and helpful. It is next door to a Buffalo Grill for a reasonable meal. Beds are comfortable and it is pet friendly.
