Emanuelle, the owner, made us very welcome. Our recently refurbished room was very comfortable.
The breakfast was fresh, used local produce and was good value. We would stay at the Gabriel hotel again.

Good location & easy to get to the center of town. Delphine our host was welcoming and we chatted quite a bit. She also secured a table for us at a popular restaurant. The atmosphere was homey and had the added bonus of a cat and dog!

Hotel is in the center square of this beautiful city.
Roma the man running the hotel was incredible, he was kind, thoughtful and very helpful to two senior citizens - a wonderful, lovely experience in a beautiful hotel in the center of the city.

Wonderful location, very short and easy drive to Chinon (could have biked if we had bikes). Hosts were very welcoming, after our long drive. Accomodation and facilities very well thought out, including details such as pool towels and suncream. We stopped off for a one-night stay after an 8 hour drive from Nice. Such a lovely relaxing break, a quick dip in the pool ... followed by supper in one of Chinon's restaurants. The building where we stayed has been beautifully renovated by Ronan and Vero.
Hotel Au Sans Souci is located 3.1 mi from Chinon city in artisanal activity area. It features a large garden and a fully furnished terrace. All rooms have a simple décor.

Chinon is a beautiful destination complete with Fortress, the Vienne river and coble stone Medieval streets. Picture perfect.
However, I felt it lacked a heartbeat - there just wasn’t a vibe in the central square and the remainder of the town was closed.

Beautiful town, well kept, great restaurants and friendly people.
In particular we recommend the "Ardoise" restaurant in rue Rabelais, where you can taste special dishes and excellent wines in a refined atmosphere.

Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river.
Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. We could have spent a day exploring, I think, but chose it simply as a conveniently place to rest for the night. They make very good wine, too!

Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. Would recommend staying here, it was excellent value & the breakfast was superb!

Chinon is easily walkable from the river up to the castle/fortress ruins on small streets that are still used in the daily lives of its’ residents. Although old, it is lively and offers many restaurants and shops for any needs you may have. Rather a charming, old city.

My wife is a disabled wheelchair user. The 'PMR' room was excellent. The manger (owner?) was exceptionally helpful, assisting us with luggage and ensuring we had everything we needed. Most all all we appreciated thier natural kindness. Our room, located in the annex with a courtyard, was very quiet. One of our favorite stays and easy waliking access into the bustling centre of Chinon. Don'r be fooled by the 2 Star rating - it exceeds many 3 star hotels.
It would be worth a return visit to the Loire Valley simply to stay in this beautiful chambres d’hôtes again. The house is exquisite in every tasteful detail, with spacious, comfortable and superbly furnished rooms and its location on a delightful, quiet street in Chinon. The breakfast buffet has to be seen to be believed, and the charm and helpfulness of Maurice tops everything off. Parking nearby is easy.
We loved staying here! Caroline gave us such a warm welcome. The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Parking was ideal and the location perfect for visiting Chinon. The breakfasts were fabulous. Thank you, Caroline!
Quirky privately run hotel close to the centre of Chinon. Good friendly service and excellent continental breakfast. Car parking available on site though chargeable.
Amazing breakfast with all local produce. Florent was also a brilliant host with lots of great recommendations for châteaux, vineyards and restaurants.
