Perfect location for exploring the Royal City and the modern townof Loches. We had good communication about the access and parking, and felt very welcomed when we arrived. There’s a lovely garden with delightful touches, including flowers, sweet cats, and rooftop views of nearby historic buildings. The view from our room was of the castle walls, and the room was very comfortable and well-appointed. And a nice breakfast.

Breakfast was wonderful, Celine serves delicious homemade breads and jam, granola, yogurt, orange juice. She is very friendly and participates in conversation with the guests in French and English. The breakfast room is inside the cave, fascinating, also quite homey and comfortable.

Large room with large balcony. Bed and pillows very good quality. Having a nice bedroom is a thing but what you are looking for is a good sleep like home. The breakfast buffet was amazing 🤩 and it was very very clean.

Loches is full of history and we learned a lot about Valois kings and queens, not to mention medieval brigands and characters.
The Saturday market was great fun - and much larger than we expected.
Many great places to visit in the vicinity.
Definitely bringing walking boots next time!

We only had a morning to look at the royal castle/town inside its walls. You really need a day if, like us, you are interested in historic buildings, and there was a lot elsewhere to see in the town which we know we missed. We shall have to return.
No problem (with advice from the proprietors of where we stayed) finding somewhere to eat in the town on a Monday evening.

Loches is the perfect little town with lots of history, cute shops and plenty of places to eat. It has a beautiful walk along the river and plenty of green spaces as well as the historic buildings and cobbled streets in the old town. Everything is within walking distance.

Loches is a very quite town/village and there is not much happening there especially in the evenings. There are only a handful of restaurants, one of which is very recommendable P'tit Restau.
We hope that on our next visit there will be less rain.

Loches is well worth a visit and wandering around the ancient cobbled streets a must. We had too short a time to explore properly and next time will allow a full day to do so. Highly recommend as a place to stop en route up France to the Channel ports to the UK.

The staircase was as expected, very, very old but useable for me even with bad knees. Just had to be careful.
Location was absolutely ideal (once car parked nearby) and room was great. Very friendly staff.
We ate at restaurant which can be seen from room window. Excellent.
I recommend that you phone owners once you are in town to show you directions.
