Traditional, quirky and quaint Auberge! The restaurant was absolutely excellent and the Staff are so professional and entertaining! Breakfast was great value and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. Ideal location for travelling onwards too. Parking is free and easily located. All in all, great value and we will return!

My bag was stolen from the train en route to Marseilles...
My bag was stolen from the train en route to Marseilles airport when I left. The police said that Avignon is a hot spot for this.. Anyone is allowed on the train platforms and apparently thieves wait at the stations and grab any unattended bag when the train stops and the doors opens. I had no idea.. I was sitting below it and it was too large to fit on any of the baggage racks so I left it at the top of the stairs.. It was devastating as it was full of gifts and all my clothing and I was en route to a cruise in the North Sea.. I highly recommend that other travellers take care on the French trains.. The focal point in the town centre is the beautiful avenue of plane trees, with bistros and cafes. Would have liked to have been able to go inside the castle, however this was closed as an art exhibition was being set up. If you have a sweet tooth, the nougat is fantastic!!
