Fantastic location! The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was excellent, with friendly service. The rooftop bar offers a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower. We arrived too early to check in, but the receptionist was very kind and allowed us to leave our luggage and come back later.

We bought the city pass for Paris which got us to skip line...

We bought the city pass for Paris which got us to skip line at museums, got a guided tour of Eiffel Tower. And climbed the arc de triumph. The city is very easy to get around by metro. Get a Ratp card and just top it up on your app If you wanted to go to Notre Dam or the Louvre you would be best getting there as early as possible because the queues are very long. With the go city pass you can book them. but don't leave it til you go book as far ahead as you can as we didn't do that and didn't get into either.. I wouldn't visit the skyscraper the area is not nice a bit dirty and the building looks horrible. Should be knocked down

Surprisingly hot in June for Paris. Crowds were manageable. We stayed in the 9th district and had a car. You don't need a car to get around. Given what we experienced this trip, we would stay further out of Paris in a newer building with good access to the metro/RER.

Great place to visit, so much to see.

Great place to visit, so much to see. Definitely best to go around on foot otherwise you would miss so much. A big bonus is that a lot of their roads are tree lined, a real help in the recent very hot weather Also their Metro is air conditioned in most cases. The high spots are very very busy, with queueing, so make sure you a carrying water. Restaurants are not cheap, but if you ask for a "Carafe d'eau" , you get that water for free, that's nice. One more tip, ...if you don't have a NAVIGO pass "Ile De France mobilites /RATP" have a help desk at the Gare de Nord, so if you come in by Eurostar, where it is on the level below. It made life so much easier as was our first visit there.

    This city is definitely over-romanticized.

This city is definitely over-romanticized. I had high hopes for a city of beautiful architecture and history to find a lot of these beautiful buildings were vandalized with graffiti. The area around the Tour Eiffel is not safe especially at night. Public transit (underground) is extremely dangerous and I would not risk it if you're a solo traveler. As for the museums and other landmarks, they absolutely live up to the hype because they are government operated so security prevents vandalism and most crime. If you're used to American Disneyland and Disneyworld, Disneyland Paris will also be a huge let down for you. Locals and Disney crew were rude even to someone speaking in French. Several locals cut in front of me on a lot of rides and will mock you. I'm glad to have checked this city off my bucket list but will not be returning.

Paris is a vibrant city with almost too much to do.

Paris is a vibrant city with almost too much to do. The centre is jammed with tourists, so it pays to find quieter areas such as Montparnasse. If you want to visit Notre Dame, wait for them to release tickets on the day - check their website frequently from 10:00 am onwards, but be prepared to queue. If you have a disability, many places allow free entry for you and a carer, and you can jump the queue. Paris is very expensive especially in the centre, where most cafes are a rip-off. If you're on a budget, eat at bistros a little way out from the centre - they are much cheaper and have perfectly good food. Take-aways are another cheaper option. Buy water and soft drinks from the many small grocery shops rather than in cafes - these shops will have almost everything you might need. It pays to research Paris before you go and to have your wants and needs in mind, rather than leaving everything to chance. If you like culture, there are many venues to choose from but it helps to book in advance, even out of season. The metro is a great and cheap way to get around Paris. Taxis are very expensive and the traffic is seriously problematic. Paris a wonderful city, but like any city, the more you know about it, the more you will get out of it.

They have upgraded our room to a family room which was nice, they always make up the room everyday, the staff were so helpful as well, there was one staff who has helped us out how to get around paris easily. And the best part is the location, ita close to shops restaurante and the gare du nord station which was a plus coming from outside france and arriving at this station it was very convenient to just walk out of the station to the hotel

Love that our rooms had balconies with table and chairs! Great to have a bar and best of all, the staff are the real treasure here. They are all wonderful, especially Francesca and Salome. It’s a great place to rest with good views! The rooms are small and compact and it’s a great fit for a night’s sleep! As the name says it’s a budget hotel and cheaper compared to many hotels in Paris. So did not expect too much but it’s worth the price in Paris. The breakfast was good.
