We love Poitiers, the choice of things to do and see are perfect for us as are the large selection of restaurants and shops. We like to have an aperitif in the cafe bars in the large square in front of the Hotel de Ville.

We only visited Poitiers for a one night stopover on our way to another destination. We strolled around town visiting some shops and had a nice dinner across the street from the hotel. We can't evaluate the city and surroundings much further due to the fact that we didn't see much beyond our hotel stay and meal out in the evening. It was a lovely spot however.

We enjoyed walking in Poitiers, lovely old town with beautiful churches. Amazing antique buildings. Unfortunately, however, service in the different restaurants we went to was bad. The third and last restaurant we went to was even dishonest.

The centre of Poitiers was charming with a mix of architecture and some wonderful churches and religious buildings in the Romanesque style. During our stay, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the river and in the Parc (Blossac). We visited a lovely Lebanese restaurant (the Beyrouth) where we had a delicious lunchtime meal. There was also a market in the square near to L'Eglise de Notre Dame. Although we enjoyed our visit, there was something lacking for us: the buzz and excitement of other cities perhaps. Also, as we were using public transport and there were issues with the riots affecting the late running of the buses, we didn't visit Futuroscope, but imagine it would be well worth the visit.

Poitiers was a revelation and provided a beauty that I wasn't expecting. Walking the streets to the Cathedrale Saint Pierre, we were taken back to an era one could only imagine. We imagined life during the 19th and 20th centuries and how traditional French buildings and architecture have been re-purposed for life in the 21st. We visited two central squares and eat in one of them and it was delightful

It is a lively town.
It is a lively town. We arrived on Friday afternoon and the square was just starting to fill with young people at some of the bars around the square which gave it a nice buzz. The next morning there was a market - great for people watching and getting an idea of daily life there.
Modern hotel in a central location. You could throw a stone from outside the hotel to the town main thoroughfare. The hotel has a secure underground carpark which gave peace of mind. Spacious room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast had a wide choice of foods to eat, very good. Oliver on the front desk reception deserves a special welcome for the warm reception and helpfully recommended a excellent restaurant for our supper. Oliver even allowed me to practice my poor French without interruption - he spoke perfect English :) Thank you Oliver.
Booked this hotel last minute, after the first hotel we booked had broken a/c and it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit and very humid. The hotel was beautiful and the staff spoke English which was welcome since we were already very jet lagged and had just driven almost 3 hours from Paris. The room and view was gorgeous and we loved how the bed was upstairs and the rest of the room was downstairs. There was also room service and our room included breakfast. Since we had a rental car, they also told us we could park at the theater across the way.
I usually get a room in the town centre but this time I needed to be close to the station. It has to be one of the cleanest rooms I have had. It was so clean I thought maybe it was new. The room is small and basic with a good bed, shower and toilette. The corridors in the hotel are extremely clean also. I was a bit worried about reserving an ibis budget ( I never usually reserve less than 3 star) but frankly I will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future one night visits to poitiers.
The staff were very nice and efficient.
The hotel is close to the motorway which was my main factor for my booking it as it was a stopover on my way to the Pyrenees.
The room was clean and of adequate size for my one night stay.
The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was fine with a good shower.
Although it is on an industrial estate there are enough places close by to get something to eat.
There is also a service station very close to the hotel which was perfect to avoid motorway fuel prices.
The hotel needs updating but no less comfortable for this. We were on the ground floor. Comfortable room, very clean facilities. The en suite was small but very clean. Shower water was hot with good pressure.
Breakfast was good with a wide variety for Continental Breakfast. The hotel team were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is on the A2 route into the town centre (€2 round trip).
Neat little apartment, the roof terrace acting as an additional room (with, of course, great views) - subject to good weather, which I was lucky enough to enjoy. Very well organised check in and out; excellent communication with the hosts throughout. Very comfortable bed. And after struggling with stairs across France the lift was much appreciated.
The hotel is well placed near the motorway at Poitiers. The staff were so friendly and the whole place is scrupulously clean. Excellent comfortable bed too. Location was ideal for the trip we were on and there was ample free parking. The breakfast was superb and generous.
A nice spot to stay in Poitiers (on route up to Calais), close to the town centre. The restaurant is a huge standout - I highly recommend reserving when you may your booking - it was really special and unexpected! The rooms are small but have everything you need.
perfect location for dropping off rental car and getting the train to Paris. very easy to get into the main part of town from there too. we have stayed here a few times when we need to get a morning train to Paris.
The breakfast room at Hotel de l'Europe is magnificent, with sumptuous breakfasts while looking down on the back garden. The hotel is also convenient for the centre of Poitiers, for tourists or business.
We have now used the Ace Hotel for a number of years when travelling across France. Always made very welcome and staff very helpful. We will be returning in the future
Good location (close to the train station), friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bedroom, very clean apartment, equipped kitchen. I recommend Adaggio Hotel.
Beautiful apartment, well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, comfortable beds. Unique decor. Within walking distance of many of the sites to see in Poitiers.
