We received a "renovated" room, but it didn't really look like it, so not sure how the unrenovated rooms looked. The room was quite large which was nice. The location is great, we could walk anywhere in a few mins.

We truly enjoyed the four days we spent at Hotel Le Nautilus. The proprietors are warm, welcoming (multilingual!), attentive and helpful, making you feel right at home and offering great suggestions for where to go in St. Malo. They personally serve a generous French breakfast every day, and it is offered for an extended period, so you don't have to rise at the crack of dawn, unless you want to. The rooms are quiet, spotless, modern and thoughtfully appointed, including with bedside outlets and USB ports. The owners themselves stress before you arrive that the rooms are very small and the hotel doesn't offer sea views, which suited us. Well-located for exploring St. Malo on foot, it is steps away from many good restaurants and we had excellent dinners at a different place every night. I would stay here again.

It was a comfortable room, simply furnished but clean and quiet. The owner did a great favour for me going out of his way to help, so I was very impressed (and thankful)

One of the major seaports connecting France and England, Saint Malo is Brittany’s most visited town and a tourist destination in its own right.
The Old Town overlooks the English Channel and is completely surrounded by restored walls. You get a great view of them if you arrive on the ferries from England to St Malo (either direct or by the Channel Islands). Once an island, this citadel now shelters behind it the hundreds of sailing boats bobbing in the modern harbor.
Within the Old Town are bars and restaurants serving oysters from nearby Cancale, and many of the St Malo hotels. The most notable sights are the cathedral with its colorful, stained-glass window, and the castle - site of the town's museum.
The beaches are sandy, though the water is somewhat bracing. A causeway leads to Grand Bé, a rocky island housing the tomb of Chateaubriand, its most famous son. To the south is the 14th-century Solidor Tower, a remarkable collection of artifacts from voyages around Cape Horn. Further inland is Labyrinthe du Corsaire, a huge maze that will keep kids busy for hours.
In the Rance River, connecting the sea to Dinan, is the world’s first tidal power station. The road over it leads to Dinard Airport, the closest to Saint-Malo.

St Malo is AMAZING steeped in history and character its a must see if you are going to france - main mistake is that you treat it as a ferry port when its actually a 'must see' attraction for at least a couple of nights. Also great food.

Historic place to visit, nice for walking on walls, etc. Yes, crowded but it is a iconic place to visit in Brittany. We took a city bus to Cancele that was under an hour and cost less than two euros each way.

St Malo is a fascinating, vibrant city which was virtually destroyed by the allies during WW2, then rebuilt stone for stone to the exact same layout. The views from the city ramparts are stunning. It has many high-quality and up market shops and restaurants and is well worth a visit.

So much to see and do in and around St Malo, our 3 night stay was too short. We will return!
Lots of amazing food available in the many restaurants in the old town. you could walk in and get a table without booking.
We were exceptionally lucky to have such beautiful weather for April. It wasn't too busy but suspect it would be very different later in the season - much busier.

Saint Malo exceeded our expectations.
Saint Malo exceeded our expectations. Our trip was the first week on the new year. It was cold outside and warm inside. The magical atmosphere that spread its diverse aura between Saint Malo's day-times and its night-times was impressively unforgettable. We managed to live our Romance walking along the fort, visiting the Grand and petit Be, living the full experience as well as exploring the streets within the fort at night, drinking the hot cider and eating the delicious fish food and crepe in Saint Malo's beautiful warm welcoming restaurants. The food was delicious. Most amazing experience was the Thalasso Spa experience we had: One of a kind!

It is a beautiful place with a lot of exploring that can be done. I would say that staying inside the walls can be experienced in one day as there are so many other historic places and towns relatively close by to visit.

The apartment is in a lovely building in a very good place for access to the beach, the seafront walk and the walled city. There was a good supermarket within walking distance and a lovely boulangerie nearby. The apartment was lovely. Spacious and bright and very well supplied. We wish we had been there for a lot longer and will recommend it to family and friends considering visiting St Malo
Thank you
Modern and clean property with a good ambience.
Overlooking a square in the old town with a nice terrace out front.
If you’re driving it’s worth booking a car parking space with the hotel.
Rooms are well appointed, kettle and coffee machine.
A comfortable hotel in a spectacular beachside location in a pleasant suburb of St Malo. There are excellent restaurants nearby and the walled city is an enjoyable 30-minute walk away. The staff are friendly and attentive
Fabulous hotel in a lovely location within the old town walls. The hotel owner and staff were very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Parking was easy and close by and reasonable in price.
Very comfortable bed and sofa bed. Very spacious suite with lovely bathroom and small kitchen. Location within 5 minutes of the walled city and 50 metres from the promenade is convenient.
