Lovely town with an interesting if troubled history.
Lovely town with an interesting if troubled history. We were there twice this summer, doe overnight family travel stops. Lovely park by the lake and good shopping, wining and dining. A choice of good hotels and restaurants.
Stunning art-deco town.
Relaxing, classy, stylish;
especially for anyone interested in beautiful buildings/architecture.
Wonderful shopping, cheap prices - great value.
We hired a car and parked in the centre of town for €8 per 24 hours.
Cafés and brasseries and a huge range of food restaurants for evening meals.
Theres a "son-et-lumier" show on currently every evening at the Palais de Congrais, which is highly recommended. Brilliant.

Vichy is a fascinating city full of stunning architecture, lovely parks and good eating spots. We didnt have time but it looked like the river watersports would have been good fun to do with the kids. We hired scooters to zip around for an hour to take in lots of the sights.

Vichy is a pretty spa town with great architecture and wonderful public spaces. The tourist area is compact and easy to walk around in. We had lunch in two different Michelin starred restaurants and both were excellent. Dinner was a disappointment but only because we failed to make a reservation. Be sure to reserve at your restaurant of choice before you go!

It’s a fabulous turn of the century totally unspoilt spa town located on a lovely river/lake with bars located all along the banks. I love it!! Makes a lovely stop on the drive from northern France to the south.
Stephanie was great -- she met us and she was VERY responsive, both before our stay and during it! She spoke English and was able to help us understand where the stores and other places were located. We also liked her decor for the apartment. Location was great for us as we were just down the street from the equestrian venue where our daughter was competing. We also enjoyed the quick access to the riverwalk. Vichy is very walkable. And we felt very secure in the apartment.
The style of the hotel , the location and the lounge area at the entrance. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the foyer lounge. The room was lovely and overlooked the tree-lined square . The staff were friendly. The parking was easy and free. The location was great. My son ran 10kms along the river . We all had dinner on the river . The history , the architecture and the general ease getting around made Vichy a perfect stop over on the return to Caen from the South of France.
Appartement François in Vichy was wonderful. My boyfriend and I stayed here one night and everything exceeded our expectations. The host was super and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The apartment itself was located conveniently, charming and well equipped. The bed was super comfortable too. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this apartment.
The room was enormous, ceiling about 4m and the bed was super king size and dwarfed in the room. We have stayed before and certainly will stay again. This is a first class hotel in a super location. Parking be preppaid meter up to 3 hours is not expensive with free parking just around the corner. Vichy is, to us, like a mini Paris, great shops and restaurants
Hotel is in the superb location - just in the heart of Vichy. Excellent to visit old part of Vichy or go for lunch or dinner around. It is in a nice, old building and despite there is no air condition - the room was not very hot. Very good breakfast. Fantastic service - people are very nice there and helpful.
I think it used to be a beautiful spa hotel but it seems to have both staff shortage and staff satisfaction problem which quickly changes your hotel experience.
On the bright side, the restaurant was excellent with great cuisine, beautiful atmosphere and courteous staff.
Central location but very calm, beautiful buildings, cleanness, large charming room, very nice breakfast including ham, cheese (not common in France), friendly owner, excellent for money.
In short, Hotel California has become "my hotel" in Vichy. I will definitely come back!
Very well located, well decorated apartment in the center of Vichy. We had everything we needed in the apartment and we loved every bit of our week-long stay.
Communication and check-in were stellar, beds comfortable, the windows to the street were a big plus
It was very convenient near the station of Vichy. The room is large and clean, and has cooking utensils, toast, coffee maker, microwave, oven, and refrigerator. I was able to do my laundry. It was a great hotel for long stays.
The hotel is perfectly located. Very central, you can visit everything by walking around. An underground private parking is just few minutes close. The staff is very kind and helpful.
Nice hotel really well placed for being close to the main section of town. Car park has plenty of space and rooms are well priced. It's an Ibis hotel, not much more to say really.
Excellent bed, well equipped kitchenette with some basic things like oil, salt & pepper. Nice welcome with chips and bottles of Vichy water. Excellent shower!
