The Cults Hotel is just a 10-minute drive from Aberdeen's bustling city centre. The hotel offers modern, individually styled rooms with everything you need for a relaxing stay!

Very good hotel with excellent breakfast options, staff were very helpful and great service provided. Room was spacious with decent bathroom. Came back one evening on a hot day to find staff had turned on air conditioning in room. Great location on edge of town but close enough to walk to shops nearby. Modestly priced compared to other areas in Scotland.

FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Aberdeen is a very nice city.

Aberdeen is a very nice city. Clean with a community vibe, while bustling with activity and business. The people in Aberdeen were friendly, approachable and helpful. I got talking to few at a bar and ended up drinking with them until closing. Great beach very close at hand. As with most of Scotland, there is plenty of history and some distilleries in the vicinity if that's your gig. I highly rate it as a destination for a visit

Aberdeen, the granite capital of Europe, is an industrial port, that came to thrive because of mining and later on, oil. What I mean is that it's not fancy. Feels like you want to just sleep, see a bit and the leave quick. I would not plan to stay much in Aberdeen.

Usually stop in Aberdeen as a halfway stop between my Mother's home up near Fraserburgh and my home in Manchester, to break up the length of time travelling due to ill health. We enjoy doing a lot of shopping and visiting the cinema there, and there is always somewhere to go for entertainment. Walking near the harbour is enjoyable and watching the ferries coming in, always makes me want to jump on and go to visit the Shetlands, which I will do later this year. The bus station and the rail station are very handy and near each other. They are connected by a shopping center and good public toilets there, as well as being covered from the wind and rain also is a good thing. There are a lot of places to eat in this shopping centre, so many choices for different kinds of food.

Parking was good, staa were polite and helpful. The lack of food was addressed by driving to local cash and carry places such as Macdonalds and a chinese takeaway. Travel toi the city was easy but we had reserved parking in the city centre.

The member of staff, assume supervisor, on breakfast was very pleasant and helpful. Room was large with two decent sized beds. Whole hotel was very clean and tidy. Leisure facilities modern and well looked after, good than they limit the number of people as the pool is small however you can't not book slots so there is potential of being turned away at peak times. Good soundproofing in rooms especially as near airport. Good location with essy access to main routes in and out of Aberdeen City centre, airport and nearby areas.

The Atholl Hotel set a bar in Scottish Hospitality as regards value for money in relation to comfort, food and friendliness and efficiency of staff, that few hotels in Scotland can match (save perhaps 5 star hotels). Having staying in 1/2 dozen hotels throughout Scotland this year (2024) the cost per night has been £30-80 more and the standard of food and overall comfort either equal usually much less.

The breakfast was nice and the distance from the city centre was about 32 minutes with a public bus and the bus stop is less than 2 minutes' walk to the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet environment. Very nice place. I travelled down to Aberdeen from Newcastle and I really enjoyed my stay at Aloft.
