FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Have visited before, I love the history and being able to take my time looking at the statues and through the graveyard, the maritime museum is one of my daughters favourite places to visit, haven't visited much as I stick to what I enjoy. Plenty of choices for food, wetherspoons is a favourite and frankies is a good choice also, if you have kids you have your standard mcdonalds, burger king and kfc for quick lunches for on the go are always a hit with the kids in my opinion.

The air was very nice, the park was nearby as was the Johnstone gardens. we went grocery shopping at the local Morrisons and the Co-op which was also surprisingly easy. The food selection was diverse, from gourmet meals for the adults and a good Indian take away to pizza for the kids.

Price of accommodation in Aberdeen is affordable.I visited Stonehaven and took the coastal path to the castle ruins. Plenty of restaurants and bars for every occasion.Just up the road is a sports bar and immediately opposite the hotel is a very good Weatherspoons pub.Decent choice of restaurants all within 5 to 10 mins walk. ScotRail services are very good but you might want to consider air transport if coming from the south of the UK.

mostly lovely areas, and lots to see. on our visit the main street is being dug up so a bit of chaos. However I could see there is a lot of investment going on, which is a good thing. The highlight was eating in lovely restaurants The Albyn and Silver Darling both were exceptional.

I like the location as it’s very close to the night life and local shops in the day time. Me and my partner stayed over night and we really enjoyed how the hotel is really relaxing and peaceful whilst in the middle of the town. The staff are always super friendly and happy to help! I love this hotel and always the one I book when planning to stay in Aberdeen!

I was going to book a substantially more expensive hotel but as I was only in Aberdeen for a night I decided to try a 'cheaper' option. What a pleasant surprise. Nice proprietess did my check-in. She had upgraded me. (This hasn't influenced my opinions in this review). Old building but hotel has been nicely renovated - a mixture of old and new.
