NetherlandsThis is the third time we stayed in this hotel. The hotel is located in the center of the village. We had a very nice bright room with view on the church in the back of the hotel. Excellent a la carte breakfast in the morning with a choice of avocado smash, fungi, salmon and much more. Additional buffet with fresh berries, yoghurt, strawberries and more. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. Bucket with ice cubes on request. They just opened a restaurant with Mexican type food in the hotel. Grocery store nearby. Free use of refrigerator in common area.

CanadaA lovely B&B at the north end of St. Anne’s Main Street, the Victoria is sistered with The Georgian House across the road and south a few doorways. The B&B’s main floor is given over to a cozy front sitting room, the breakfast room, and a pantry cupboard well stocked with jams and preserves for purchase. Room access is up a set of stairs, and our room was attractive, well-sized, and spotlessly clean. It had bunk beds, and storage was in a free-standing wardrobe. Breakfast is excellent, and features a selection of cooked to order, home made granola, local yogurt, and fresh bread. All staff members we encountered were friendly and capable.

No, I would not recommend Alderney because of the appalling...
No, I would not recommend Alderney because of the appalling service given by their airline - Aurigny. They separated me from my suitcase for 36 hours, leaving me anxious that it had been lost altogether. It is something about Aurigny not being able to refuel their aircraft at Alderney, so they fill up to the maximum in Southampton, meaning that, because of the weight, they need to leave some suitcases behind. As a consequence, my first two days were very anxious with only the clothes I stood up in.
The good people of Alderney do not deserve this kind of handicap to their way of life and their businesses.

We stayed for 10 days joining our large family and it couldn't have been better! The very young ones spending most of the time on Corblets beach, so relaxed and laid back. A trip on the train from Braye Beach was a must and an evening walk to find the Blonde Hedgehogs was amazing! Finishing with 2 nights in the Victoria Hotel was a Perfect end to our stay.
A typical old fashioned British Holiday and all the better for that.
Great food to be found at Le Pesked and the Georgian amongst others plus Jack's for breakfast, lunch and coffee in a perfect spot at the bottom of the high street, as is the Braye Beach Hotel for a snack and coffee and more should you want it and overlooking Braye beach . The fireworks at the end of Alderney week celebrations on the Butes were the best I have ever seen which includes the London New Years Eve displays!

Alderney Festival was an unexpected bonus.
Alderney Festival was an unexpected bonus. We stayed at Fort Clonque a Landmark Trust unique destination. The sunshine made everything relaxed, al fresco and convivial. The island has spectacular accessible sea views everywhere. I loved it..

A magical island.
A magical island. The walking was incredible and the general landscape is wonderful. Alderney is a very welcoming island with so much history to explore. My only regret is that we had to leave this splendid isle.

A beautiful island, the most gorgeous beaches and crystal...
A beautiful island, the most gorgeous beaches and crystal clear sea. Lots of great walks and good food everywhere.
Saye beach worth getting to, light sand and the sea was spectacularly clear.
Make sure to walk the island, the best way to see the island and the views.

It was lovely to be able to return to Alderney after 30...
It was lovely to be able to return to Alderney after 30 years. We weren’t able to go earlier as Aurigny had cancelled flying direct from Jersey which meant we had to fly to another Island before Alderney making it very expensive but a new ferry company Islands Unlimited have started sailing direct making the trip much cheaper. We love Alderney which is so relaxing and the people are so friendly. No buses I’m afraid but most people just cycle everywhere or walk.
