A beautiful island with such a lot of history from WWII in...
A beautiful island with such a lot of history from WWII in particular. So friendly and safe, everyone leaves their doors unlocked. It's a peaceful retreat, probably not for those who want a full-on active holiday although there is bike and surf hire. Only a few shops but you can get everything you need. We flew from Southampton which was an experience in itself. A tiny plane with 19 passengers. You can watch the pilots and they just turn around to make announcements! Alderney is a wonderful island to visit, but is sadly let down by the poor air service that Aurigny now provides. Its once-capable fleet of small aircraft serving the island has since been retired, leaving just two (presently ONE for the last week) aircraft able to serve Alderney airport. Until the States of Guernsey procures replacement, more reliable aircraft on the route, I regret that I shall not return to Alderney, which is a shame, because the island deserves to be far better served.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Greats place, slow pace, lots of biking or walking.
Greats place, slow pace, lots of biking or walking. Plenty to entertain. If weather was good the beaches are fantastic. Food everywhere was good and fair price for an island where everything has to come in by boat or plane. Unless grown/sourced locally. A perfect place with kids. Great new ceramic painting shop in the high street. Not ideal for small babies but 6yrs plus is fantastic. Have visited museum on our last stay and this was excellent.
