We spent our wedding night here and it was perfect. The room is very cosy with lovely design details, and a beautiful view out the sea. You are just a short walk across the beach from the lovely applecross inn. We had a little sea dip in the morning and it was amazing to see about 30 seals in the water, and a deer on the beach. The house is right next to a beautiful little church that you can explore, and there's a helpful guide book of places to visit in the room. Terry is a wonderful host, and made us an absolutely fantastic breakfast, she worked with my now-husbands mum to put a card and bottle of prosecco in the room. She also has a very lovely dog named Finn.

Beautiful hostel with clean and tidy rooms, a spacious and well equipped kitchen+dining area. The kitchen has plenty of cookingware and dishes, as well as storage in the fridges and pantry for your food. Ample parking. Some basic items such as coffee beans, non perishable foods sold in the office. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Laundry can be done, with for a small charge to use the machine. Bike maintenance equipment available for bikers to use (no bike rentals). There were amenities such as a lounge and gym that I did not use as I was only there for one night. The hostel team is friendly and helpful, and they clearly want their guests to be well-provided for. The check in and check out is seamless, you can extend your stay till noon for 5 pounds. Only complaint is that the walls were a little thin. Bring your ear plugs. But with the other amenities, it's fantastic for a hostel. Very value for money.

Nice breakfast. It being out of season, the restaurant was not open in the evening: the bar alternative is acceptable

I took the pass road in. Magnificent experience but not for the faint hearted.
The coastal road was also magnificent scenery which you could take time to enjoy.

Amazing views, especially on the Applecross pass.
Amazing views, especially on the Applecross pass. Take a drive around the coastal route covering the entire peninsula which has some beautiful places. Take a minute to stop at the view points, get out of your vehicle and walk into the wilderness. Enjoy the breath taking views. Applecross has a few amazing places to stay (like Hartfield House), and to eat (like Applecross Walled Garden).

Lovely, a dream, it's look like Anne of the green gables village. You can move around from an attraction to another by walking on a wooden path with deer on sight. The local community is really active and always ready to organize special activities and services for tourists too. The walled garden restaurant is unique and full of surprises.

Applecross was a remote heaven!
Applecross was a remote heaven! Not too busy at this time of year, lucky enough we were to have a gorgeous weather. Weve enjoyed walking around the loch and watched the cows. We had a lovely fish an chips as well as a couple of pints at the fish and chips shack. We will come back!

For the not experienced driver it might be a bit scary to arrive at this lovely village with their beautiful beach and views over the hills. The Applecross Inn is a legend; mind you closed on the Tuesdays. If you’re there and you have to cooke for yourself get enough shopping in as there’s only one tiny shop what does only have the necessary goods. There’s an estate with the famous Scottish Highland Coos grazing. Do not forget the photograph gallery, a small cottage a wee bit outside town, worthwhile a visit. Coffee is for free but you might loose a bit of money as the photos shown are all for sale and definitely worthwhile.

Beautiful area & setting.
Beautiful area & setting. Great facilities for a hostel, especially kitchen. Bit of a long trek to village by foot, but ok if good weather.
We stayed in room 10, this is ok for a one night stay, but if it is a longer trip then make sure you are not in any of these rooms if you want sleep. Right next to toilets & people are in & out all night. Also above kitchen & you can hear every word & noise, people in here very early & until late at night. No notice taken of times to be quiet & no one on site to enforce this after 21.00.
