Located in Pitlochry, in a historic building, 23 km from Castle Menzies, Tomnauld Farm is a luxury tent with a garden and barbecue facilities.

What a gem!! Loved everything about it, the tent was cosy and comfortable, the facilities were amazing especially the toilets and showers were 5 star hotel quality, the views were incredible, the grounds were amazing from fairy den to the river, loved feeding the animals, they have a puzzle challenge waiting in your room which they say is for kids but as a 33 year old still had fun and to top it off the owners are so friendly and helpful…. Highly recommend this place had an amazing stay

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and nicely cooked. In the evenings we ate in the bar, again tasty, well cooked food.

Plenty of places a relatively short car trip close by to visit, especially if you like nature walks and hikes. We visited Killiecrankie, Loch of the Lowes, Faskally Forest and the Bluebell Forest as well. There are plenty of good opportunities for birdwatchers (we saw the ospreys at loch of the Lowes) and plenty to see for history buffs as well (Soldiers Leap at Killicrankie). We were self-catering, so mainly had our own meals in our lodge, but the Kaoglen Restaurant was very nice, with pleasant, hard-working staff and lovely food. It was relatively easy to get around, I didn't use too much petrol and the roads are relatively well maintained, just be careful on the one lane back roads, plenty of tractors coming the other way! :D

The peace and quiet of the location.

The peace and quiet of the location. Great restaurant serving delicious food. More attention to detail needs to be sown in the cleaning of the suite. Dirty glass on log burner. No large place mats for the dining table and ring marks on the coffee table.

The log cabin hotel was great, it had all you needed in it.

The log cabin hotel was great, it had all you needed in it. The only critisisms I had was perhaps the room we had required a new mattress as it wasnt very comfortable & the hot tub area was open so pets could easily go into neighbours private spaces, perhaps closing this would be a good idea. The area itself was amazing, especially for dog walking or just a casual walk, views were incredible. The little village (walking distance) was lovely & people were very friendly. The restaurant /bar on site was really good, opens for lunch/dinner & stays open late. Food was good & the owners were friendly, accomodating & couldnt do enough for you (also a big plus was its dog friendly & they are going to try a dog menu from Tails) We had a great weekend away & will definitely be returning. We would recommend this place to anyone wanteing a wee break away with beautiful serene views & walking areas.

Beautiful area with plenty of outdoor activities.

Beautiful area with plenty of outdoor activities. There isn't a lot to do in the village itself, but if you are looking for amazing nature, good walks, beautiful drives and views, then this is a great base to start from. The Cairngorms are stunning and there are plenty of outdoors activities to do like hiking, biking and skiing in the winter.
