Staff and owners, we're very friendly and welcoming. The food was very good. We will be visiting again.

The room, the bed, the breakfast were all nice. I loved them

The hotel was near were we needed to be for work.
Staff changed my room as my original room was on the side of the road and was extremely noisy.
Ideally situated, The Vale is a short walk from the KCOM stadium, 50 metres from local bus links and 1 mile from Hull's vibrant city centre and Hull Paragon Train Station.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and always said we would come back if we were ever in Hull again. Our second visit didn't disappoint. The hotel bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated, and the staff are efficient and friendly, as ever. Our rooms had everything we needed - just right!
Conveniently located in the centre of Hull, the Gilson Hotel boasts free WiFi in all areas, two bars and an on-site gym. Hull Railway Station is opposite the property, approximately 200 yards away.

A nice clean little town with friendly locals but not to much to do for more then a couple of days unless you travel. Would highly recommend Harrisons Bar for a drink. The local Chinese takeaway is questionable, but that's personal preference.

Clean cottage with all facilities required.
Clean cottage with all facilities required.
Tiny rear enclosed courtyard garden. I was considering taking my dog but I’m glad I didn’t as the garden is only suitable for smaller dogs.
Parking space behind cottage.
Village is very interesting re architecture and has all amenities.
Nice to have enough toilet rolls, hand soap, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets in situ.

Would highly recommend staying in Barrow Upon Humber, its a beautiful friendly place. We made use of Sargeants the village butcher who do the most amazing sausage rolls, the local co-op, Pattys Pastries and The Royal Oak pub, all of which were excellent with very friendly villagers.
We ate at The Marrowbone and Cleaver in nearby Kirmington, which was excellent, 5 stars!
There is a lot of RAF history in the area and its worth visiting St. Helenas church where there is a stained glass window dedicated to RAF Squadron 166. There is also a memorial just along from the church.
Also, within a 15 drive is the Humber bridge, which is an amazing feat of engineering. There are beautiful woodlands with a nature trail on the North Side at Hessle shores.

I was unhappy paying a deposit of £50 on arrival in case of any damage or leaving with a tab. I did not have a tab and was not offered one. I paid for the stay beforehand and paid for my dogs £30 on arrival. I was advised the charge would be refunded within 10 days. This was an unplanned and unadvised additional (hopefully temporary) cost

This is by far the most hospitable pub/hotel I’ve ever stayed at all of the staff are super friendly, polite and caring they all seem to enjoy working at the establishment and the owners are just an amazing couple so dedicated to making sure guests are comfortable and happy, we definitely left feeling like we’d made two wonderful friends, stick to what doing and I don’t think you can go wrong
A lovely family run hotel. The staff were all amazing, friendly and efficient. The owner Jo changed our booking when I made a mistake in the dates. The food was great in the evening and again at breakfast.
They couldn't have made us feel more at home. Thoroughly recommended.
The hotel is located on a quiet 'backwater' road and so at night is really quiet. Although its a restaurant and pub it never gets noisy and has a really nice atmosphere to it. Staff are very helpful and friendly and made the stay very relaxing.
