From the moment we opened the door to when we left, Fiona made us very welcome. Great hotel to stay. The room was quirky and very comfortable, very quiet with a great view of the ocean. And great coffee before we left, oh and the bathroom was great. Clean, renovated and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended

FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Take plenty of money, either long or short stays, especially with kids. There's plenty to do night or day. Blackpool should bring back the deckchairs. It's not comfy sitting on the steps, while kids are in the water.

Blackpool seafront is lovely.

Blackpool seafront is lovely. The hotel fronts are tired, many are empty and boarded up. I guess its a sign of the times. That said, there appears to be a bit of construction going on so hopefully things are improving. Blackpool had something for everyone regards entertainment. It's ideal for any age from kids to the elderly. It's definitely a short break town with lots of atmosphere. The Pleasure Beach is good but pricey. Always book tickets online as they're almost twice the price on the day.

I do like to be beside the.....Oh sorry. I like Blackpool and the surrounding area. I had trips to Poulton Le Fylde, Lytham st Annes, Fleetwood and Cleveleys, met many pleasant and interesting people while visiting many Pubs but I do regret only visiting Lowry's Cafe once, I made the same mistake last time too but fully intend to visit far more often, next time.

Wrong time to visit as most attractions were closed until following week such as famous ballroom and tower lift and the front promenade was full of derelict hotels. Sad to see once great seafront looking so bad. The beach was fabulous and clean but weather was poor so could not enjoy it.

It was cold, very wet and a lot of establishments were closed, despite it being early June. A lot of the access points to the North Shore beach are cordoned off, for whatever reason, making beach access very problematic. The North Shore area is festooned with guest houses, B&Bs and Hotels but lacks coffee shops and cafes where you can grab a drink or a bite to eat. Sadly a lot of establishments have gone to the wall and are boarded up. North Pier is closed, with only an arcade, ice-cream seller, fish and chip seller and a pub at the entrance.

Staff always welcomed you with a smile and asked if anything was required. We stayed 9 nights £333 ( family of 4 ) and room was clean and tidy with coffee/tea facilties. Ensuite with shower. Location is excellent less than 5 mins walk from the blackpool tower and local shops. Fresh towels for the asking. If u want left to yourself and no fuss this is the place for you. If you want pampered and doted on pay for a more expensive hotel. To rest your head at night and prime location and cheap this is fine.
