We were very impressed with the Holiday Inn. The train station was across the road and you can take the hotel lift down to LG which brings you out at the tram station. The staff were very friendly and our room had a great view of the Tower. Everything was in walking distance. Would highly rcommend.

FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

We visited Blackpool zoo which was lovely, despite the frizzy weather! Then gruffalo clubhouse which the kids absolutely loved, if your children like Julia Donaldson books this is a must visit, the have mascots for photo opportunities, soft play, story and disco time! And a lovely cafe too! It was lots of fun.

Brilliant, a bit early in the season as a few places not open yet but still enough to do with the grandkid's One thing I thought was a bit dangerous was crossing the road from the beach to the shops ( and-vice versa ) on the sea front ,a bridge subway or more pedestrian crossings controlled by traffic lights would be good but I know it all comes down to money. Still a brilliant place and coming back at Easter .

It's always been a place where people enjoy their drink, bad weather, and a poor beach. It has been improved since the last time we came, but we only came up for a convention. Wouldn't come for social reasons. We enjoyed an afternoon tea in the ballroom, very nice and nostalgic.

There is something for everyone even in winter plenty of places for food and drinks lots of shops. Plenty of buses and trams to get you to Cleveleys St Anne's Fleetwood and surrounding areas. Lots of Wetherspoons good value and usually in the best spots. Brisk sea breezes to blow away the cobwebs! Top club at Cleveleys great food entertainment very friendly welcoming bingo dancing and three artists good value night out not a seat in the place so get there early make sure you follow the club rules and get signed in! Then Freeport Fleetwood lots of boots shoes handbags designer outlets relatively undercover lots of free parking!

It is still an ideal place to get away from the noise and smog of Manchester for a while, the front is still an ideal spot for a bit of R&R with plenty or bars and a selection of cafe's and restaurants, however away from the front some of the streets especially around the old tram depot are looking tired and neglected.

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms were cozy but had everything we needed and everything was spotlessly clean. Location is great, on the North Shore and away from the noise but with Blackpool’s main attractions easily accessible. The breakfast was fantastic and they were so accommodating. The best part of this hotel is the family who run it - they are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they immediately make you feel welcome. This is a Blackpool gem!

The owners were very welcoming from arrival to departure, and the hotel was very clean. The bestest one so far in blackpool, room reasonable size, and the beds were really comfy. The location is good, not on the seafront but not far from coral island, I would definitely stay here again, and so would my daughter 😀
