FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

Bristol is amazing! Better than I expected.

Bristol is amazing! Better than I expected. It's a interesting combination between a british vintage town and a modern city with loads of street art. You can notice it has been a cultural spot where some of modern tendencies appeared such as Massive Atack, Portishead, Banksy... St Nicolas Market and the Harbourside are very nice places to go. During the day is quiet and chill and there's a lot of things going on at night. A city with a good vibe...

Bristol is a great little city break; there are plenty of bars and restaurants to suit anyone's taste. There is a mixture of architecture, history and fun activities to keep anyone entertained. It is a hilly city, so be prepared for steep hills and stairs once you go out of the old town.

Bristol is an interesting place with a history and you are easily able to explore the city on foot. Street and area maps are readily available. The waterside provides restaurants to suit all tastes and you are able to sit and eat Alfresco or inside and look out onto the river. At night time it can be a bit noisy as students and younger people are walking in the streets but it gives the area a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. There are also numereous good restaurants within the city area.

The local councils are struggling to keep general streets, parks and public spaces clean. There is a lack of bathroom facilities which are easily accessible. Like the rest of UK generally the food was very poor and the coffee awful despite charging top price. No one minds paying top prices but if you look around at the food waste the reason has to because most of the food is unappealing and at times inedible. The drivers on the buses were downright rude yet in the train stations they were always helpful- strange really!

We were attendind a party in Bristol City Centre so the location was perfect! - The hotel is really well maintained, clean and peaceful. The stairwells are a little tiered and could do with sprucing up! (We only used the stairs once when the lift was busy). The bar food was delicious as was the breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would definately stay in this hotel again.

The location is excellent. In Bristol City centre, but not in the too noisy parts. The rooms (I have stayed twice) were excellent. Very comfy bed. The room had an ice cooler (small fridge), which manner competitor hotels at this price point absolutely do not provide these days. The staff are professional and yet very polite and helpful.

I can't imagine a better combination of a location and the price of the hotel. The place is just a few minutes from Bristol Temple Meads train station and within a walking distance of the city centre. There's a kettle with tea and coffee, a TV and a comfortable bed. If I ever come back to Bristol, I know where to stay.
