Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol features Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the Avon River. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbor, where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.
Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I registered historic Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St. Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centers at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.
As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.
Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artist Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodations, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.
This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath rail line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.
A busy city with lots to see and do to suit all ages.
A busy city with lots to see and do to suit all ages. Disappointed after travelling from the Midlands that I was denied access to the Clifton Bridge shop because I was accompanied by my small, well behaved dog. No mention of this on website, only access to the museum.
Would recommend the Pasty Emporium for a good value, delicious lunch.
Bristol railway station excellent, even during rush hour, good signage and facilities.
Local buses brilliant from outside the station no8 takes you to all the tourist attractions.
Only visited for 2 days, but enjoyed apart from the poor service in the Clifton Suspension Bridge shop.

Of all the cities in Britain, Bristol liked it the most.
Of all the cities in Britain, Bristol liked it the most. Very young city. Almost no problems with transport , Huge number of pubs and restaurants. There are shops with old antiques. Highly recommended to visit the local Kare Buta. But you have to come to the opening and for 2 pounds you can find the real treasure. The whole day must be allocated to lie in the sun in the park. It will be quiet and relaxing and almost in the city center.

I fell in love with Bristol a few years ago and try to get there now at least once a year. The city is full of bright young music loving people, great bohemian atmosphere and loads of history of course. I always fall into good company when I'm there, just a brilliant place to visit.

I loved the architecture and the walks especially around by the harbour.
The transport from the airport and the train service to Bath were extremely good.
I found the people friendly and helpful
I loved Clifton but found the shopping in Bristol more suited to young people than my age group---senior.

There is so much to see and do here that the hardest part is trying to fit in all you want to do in the time you have. I have stayed several times and still keep coming back.
I stayed in Clifton village in easy walking of shops and restaurants and the Clifton bridge of course. I ate my evening meal at Nutmeg - an excellent Indian restaurant and had breakfast at The Ivy next day.

Once again, first impression arriving at the train station was, OMG I wanted to turn around and go back, but am I glad I didn't, it's a beautiful city, with lovely clean green areas, lovely buildings and the nicest of people, I will be back for sure. The city is easy to get around on foot. Prices in pubs can vary a lot.

The staff were very inviting from the moment we stepped inside the hotel. One staff member even gave us a map of Bristol and helped us pick out nice bars for the evening! Our room could not have been any cleaner and had everything we needed, including a hair dryer and mini fridge. We could not have asked for anything else and would 100% recommend this hotel if you are looking for something of a decent price, modern and a walking distance from the city centre.
The location was good, and the price was very competitive for Bristol city centre. The welcome apple basket and sherry in the room was a nice touch. Lots of small touches like the name of the person who made up the room. And as little a detail as it may seem, having real milk in the fridge and not a little long-life pot made the morning cuppa so much nicer than in a lot of hotels!
The Arnos Manor Hotel is a conveniently located Hotel, which is close to my work and also Bristol city centre. It has free parking for residents, which you will struggle to find in city centre hotels.
It’s spotlessly clean.
probably the best location in Bristol. car park less than hundred metres away and on the river next to all the bars and restaurant.Easy walk into the shops at the city centre.
