There was a choice of Continental or full English. We went for the buffet style Continental with cereal fresh juice and tea or fresh brewed coffee and good selection of pastries, and unlimited toast.10 out of 10.

Friendly staff in the evening and next morning. We had a lovely refurbished room with a comfortable bed and a good sized kettle and cups. It was enjoyable to sit in the beer garden overlooking the river Dart. We had a cracking breakfast. We enjoyed our stay which was priced very reasonably.

The décor was pleasantly station-themed. The fridge and wine glasses in the room were a bonus.
With a charming oak-beamed restaurant, this former motel offers home-cooked food and real ales. Dartmoor Lodge is on the edge of South Dartmoor, surrounded by scenic Devonshire countryside.

The staff on arrival at reception were just superb, thank you ladies it was so nice to be greeted with a smile, it makes all the difference. The breakfast was just so lovely and staff in the breakfast room were also excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Didn’t have breakfast. It was in a central position in Totnes

We were met with a warm welcome from our host.
The room was light and spacious and spotlessly clean.
The bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was served to order with a good choice available.
The location is ideal for the town centre and surrounding area
Great location for exploring the area. Buckfast Abbey was amazing, free to park and free entry (well worth a visit). The butterfly farm and otter sanctuary was good, although a little over priced. The Valliant Soldier pub and museum is very good, a pub where time stood still.
All in all a lovely place to visit for a few days.

I have friends there.
I have friends there.
An excellent new wine bar with very friendly and hospitable staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us and find suitable dishes for me to avoid my chilli allergy.
But parking is a problem
I didn’t use other facilities but I understand that the music scene is getting better all the time

Excellent, super friendly staff. Lovely & quite.
Excellent, super friendly staff. Lovely & quite. Great location. Good breakfast. Spotless in all areas. Very comfortable. Would have been nice if the lights in the room were a bit brighter & there was some control over the heating. It was just little on the cold side for us in November. We would definitely stay again though.

Whenever we pass through this area we stop at the abbey. It's beautiful architecture, amazing stained glass and has a good refectorary. The grounds are lovely to walk around and we particularly like the herb garden. We love the area around it and there are nearby craft galleries and beautiful countryside. So it was good to stay here overnight and have a bit more time.

Only one thing could be improved - lounge could do with a bit of tightening to make it a firmer seat.

We only had a flying visit so only visited the Abbey which is a lovely tranquil place to meander around. There's a little gift shop and monastic centre to learn about the st Benedictine monks, a few places to eat within the grounds and of course the beautiful Abbey and it's interesting history.

The location of the house was perfect for walking into Buckfastleigh, but also for visiting other locations around Devon.
Just off the main road from Exeter or Plymouth.
An was there to meet us at the cottage when we arrived, and showed us around. There was a welcome letter which detailed all the information you could possibly need for your stay.
The cottage was clean, tidy and very comfortable for our family of 2 x adults and 2 x teenage children.
Fantastic place to stay in the lovely peaceful town of Buckfast.
Charming location, with a beautiful river view framed with frosted trees due to a rather fortuitous cold snap. Like other families who stayed we were in Buckfastleigh for The Polar Express, making the location ideal. The bar and restaurant were lovely, food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. We had a few hiccups on the accommodation front, but this was managed efficiently by the very friendly staff.
My partner is 6’4” and as soon as we arrived the owner immediately upgraded us to a larger room with higher ceilings.
Lovely hotel, with quality furnishings. The food was excellent, they are a finalist for best restaurant in the south west and they certainly have a chance if the quality of the food was anything to go by. Lovely outdoor area that has recently been finished.
