Everything! Staff was very helpful, breakfast was fine, room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and complete. Had complimentary water, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and biscuits. View from the room was great. Great perk of staying here is that you are more than welcome to explore the college as well. I came from the other university, and staying here brought back some memories from when I was staying in my college back then--so that's a plus!

FAQs about hotels in Cambridge

The Inspiration for Genius

Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for university colleges dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.

Cambridge punting is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!

Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.

Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.

Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodation choices on Booking.com.

This hotel is right beside the train station.

This hotel is right beside the train station. 7 pounds for an Uber to the Duxford Aerodrome. For us, it was perfect. The name, B&B, is misleading. This is a proper hotel. B&B is a big hotel group across Europe.

My wife and I love Cambridge as a whole but this facility which was advertised as something special was far from it we will never stay here again You can see from the photos attached. This is promotes as spa bath which doesn’t work also promoted as a bed for a third person which is a camp bed not acceptable. Please do not book or advise anybody’s book this property as this is not acceptable.

Always lots going on in Cambridge.

Always lots going on in Cambridge. Be prepared to see strange sights and people dressed in some cases in an outlandish fashion. All this adds to the culture of Cambridge. Lots of museums to visit and we enjoyed a trip to the Botanic Gardens, a true delight. We ate at Prezzo Italian down by the river but service and food were not good. There is alot of walking to be done in Cambridge but buses are plentiful and usually every 20 minutes.

We visited Cambridge to see my old friend, and my husband stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed the spa. The facilities were clean, and the room was spacious. The price was surprisingly affordable. I noticed several tour groups of retirees staying there. Whether you’re retired or still working, it’s a great place to relax and unwind at a reasonable price. Wishing the business continued success in such a competitive market.

The Tourist Information Office was totally inadequate.

The Tourist Information Office was totally inadequate. Very few leaflets, no bus timetables etc. Yes maybe all this can be found on the internet but oh dear….Some cities e.g. Edinburgh and Chichester have a large (free) map of the city which is so handy (probably paid for by the adverts on the rear). Could Cambridge provide these? Moan over. A beautiful city with incredible buildings and fabulous green spaces.

I have never been to Cambridge before but thoroughly enjoyed...

I have never been to Cambridge before but thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I stayed a short distance from the town but was able to get a bus from outside the hotel. I took a tour on the hop-on, hop-off bus which was a brilliant way to see and hear about the history of the city. I did two tours round - the first to work out where I wanted to visit (or shop). On the second, I stopped off several times to do sightseeing, have lunch and visit the shopping centres. I also did a punting experience BUT be careful - the costs vary so much. Most of the companies charged £42 for a shared punt but I was able to book an 11.25 a.m. tour for £12.50, on line. That same company charged £20 in the centre of Cambridge and £42 further along the Cam. Eating out was excellent with so many restaurants and cafes covering all tastes and nationalities.

Great location for exploring cambridge 6 mins to park and ride and 13 mins to the city centre. The hotel was very nice and the staff were excellent.. didn't have breakfast but the food in the evening was very good in the restaurant. Room was nice size, very clean and lovely bathroom with excellent shower. There is plenty of free parking, which is a bonus and they allow pets . Overall an excellent 2 night stay for our Christmas shopping trip in Cambridge.

Location was super close to the Cambridge train station. We enjoyed the lobby's art-deco interior design. We're able to leave our bags before check in time. Room was large for 3 of us with super comfy beds. Probably the best bed I've slept in a hotel in my years of travelling! Breakfast had a good range of food.
