Boasting sea views, Halvard Apartments at Castletown features accommodation with patio, around 50 metres from Castle Rushen.

Fab view of the castle from the sitting room. And sea view from bedroom. Modern, clean, well equipped, comfy sofa, smart TV. Safe free parking immediately behind the property. Nice touch to find a few basics like washing up liquid; dishwasher tablets etc.

Right in the centre of Castletown on the Isle of Man, The George is a 19th-century hotel located opposite historic Castle Rushen. Guests can enjoy castle views, fresh local cuisine, and free Wi-Fi.

The new manager, Will, who was due to start on the Friday as we left on the Thursday. He resolved our booking issue that should have been resolved by the outgoing manager, Kim, on the day of our arrival. Thankyou Will. The cleaners came into our room daily and replenished our refreshments and tidied the room to a good standard.

Situated within 6 km of Steam Packet Company, Comis Hotel and Golf Resort in Douglas offers a garden, as well as free WiFi. Featuring a terrace, the property is located within 6 km of TT Grandstand.

We had a great time at the Comis hotel . The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice , you couldn’t fault the food or the attentive staff. There was a dog bed and treats in the room for our dog, they had thought of everything.

On the scenic Queens Promenade, The Rutland Hotel is an elegant building on the Isle of Man.

There was very little to like about this hotel other than the view.

The Claremont is a 4-star hotel offering unique style and luxury within the Isle of Man. Located on the promenade, it offers scenic views across Douglas Bay in many rooms.

The hotel was really lovely , really helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent. Room very spacious and little touches which not many hotels do anymore like seeing kits and sparkling and still water . Also plenty of hangers, which generally is my problem. Would highly recommend

The Castle was really interesting and well worth a visit.

The Castle was really interesting and well worth a visit. There were some other small museums that were interesting but the man in the maritime ? museum went rambling on too much and we had to leave before we actually saw the boat and the smugglers route. Some pleasant walks along the coast and in the town.

We were amazed at how special Castletown is!

We were amazed at how special Castletown is! The castle is a must see; so well preserved, it is a constant in the background, with the sun shining on it. The community square in front of the George Hotel is a real asset, whoever thought of putting the ping pong tables, piano, table football and deckchairs is a genius! We loved the happy atmosphere of people enjoying themselves. The harbour is very picturesque, you can sit outside the Glue Pot in the sunshine and admire the view.. we enjoyed walking through the little streets with interesting and immaculate houses and also walking along the beach with rock pools and a number of light houses! We arrived by steam train and enjoyed trying out all the pubs in the town.

Castletown has everything you need within it.

Castletown has everything you need within it. Good pubs and places to eat. To see the rest of the island you do need transport as there are many places of interest to visit including museums such as the TT museum at Ramsey or Murray's museum of around 150 motorbikes that comes with a cup of tea and welcoming staff who work there. Castletown is a great base for a visit to explore the island at your leisure and would recommend it to all.
