I just adore this quirky, unique boutique hotel. Each room has been carefully decorated to reflect the owners maximalist-boho vintage style. From the staircase to nowhere, to the flying fireplace in the hall, and the 60s drinks trolley you'd recognise from your nan's house (layden with beautiful coffee table tomes) - this lovely Victorian property is a veritable feast for the senses. There's a fabulous cocktail and wine bar downstairs - similarly decorated but independently run. Great for an after-work beverage and where guests enjoy the delicious breakfast which either comes included with the room or can be added on arrival or in the morning. The messages I received via Booking.com from Laura the owner were personalised and charming. And she was there to greet me on arrival, show me around and made me feel very welcome. There's absolutely no doubt I'll be back. P.S. Laura - I loved the Haribos and Palma Vilolets in the tea and coffee area. I'm a sucker for an above-and-beyond thoughtful touch like that. X

All staff were amazing especially Becka and Rachel and the maintainance man,can't recall his name.Breakfast was super and hot,plenty of food and lovely young man to look after us.Staff recommendation for food was excellent and they got a taxi within a few minutes on several occasions when we needed to go out. We had a wonderful airy room with 2 windows so plenty of light.

Comfortable, close to the airport, yet in a little village. They even made the effort, and a lovely gentleman made us sandwiches at the bar although we arrived very late and a birthday cake for my mom. I don't know his name, but a special thanks to the young man!!

The breakfast was great, food, staff and dining room was extremely pleasant. I’d been wanting to stay at Shrigley for years and my stay exceeded my expectations. The room with the view overlooking the front was amazing and I particularly enjoyed and appreciated the original features and history of the building it has a real Downton Abbey feel to it. What a great find this place was! We need to be in the area of Manchester airport quite frequently and this is so convenient, both for the airport and car hire and also great shopping and sightseeing nearby. Cheshire has so many great places to see-our find for this trip was the Anderton Boat Lift which was a great experience being lifted from the river to an upper canal in a boat via the lift. The unit was spotlessly clean, newly built, beautifully furnished and bigger than we expected. Well provisioned kitchen (thank you for the goodies), lovely shower and comfortable bed. Communication with the owner was excellent. Like the off street parking and we could see the car easily. Will be using this again.
