Nestled on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the Avon Causeway Hotel is just 1 mile from Bournemouth Airport. With a bar and a restaurant, it is 10 minutes’ drive from Christchurch.

Staff were brilliant as usual. I had to leave early and they prepared me a cold breakfast I could take with me. Location is superb and safe.

While I may never be back in this part of the UK again, if it ever occurs again, I would certainly stay at this location in Christchurch.

Enjoyed browsing around the charming historic town the next day. Had a superb lunch at The Noisy Lobster at nearby Avon Beach. Our stay was in February so not really beach weather but a great location to visit again in the summer even though it will be a lot busier then.

The Priory is truly special.
The Priory is truly special. It merits a day's visit itself.
Above I ran out of character capacity space for the staff. I wanted to say that none of them avoided getting involved with my needs, including the young man on night shift with a broom.
One big fault: no handrails in bathroom and showerto avoid slipping injuries. Very dangerous to young and old alike. This needs to be dealt with urgently.

A pretty town with a great history.
A pretty town with a great history. The Castle, the Priory, Hengtisbury Head, Mudeford Quay, the Harbour. Next door to Bournemouth and on the edge of the New Forest. No shortage and choices of places to eat and drink.

Lovely walks plenty of wild ducks and swans.
Lovely walks plenty of wild ducks and swans. Priory well worth a visit. Great theatre facility. Plenty of restaurants tea rooms and pubs. Some independent shops lots of charity shops. Street Market on a Monday table top sale Druitt Hall. River boats for hire or trips.
Town closes down early. Too many people having to sleep out We saw five on a daily basis. Not good look for the Town obviously not ideal for the unfortunate individuals either.

I have been to Christchurch many times and really like it.
I have been to Christchurch many times and really like it. Its a lovely town on the coast with many walks and boat trips. There's plenty of places to eat that meet every budget. It's easy to get around and plenty of car parks. I will always recommend mudeford quay, take a ferry over to hengesbury head and enjoy the beach or walk over the headland, if your physically challenged you can walk the road way, it's easier.

I enjoyed walking through the town and exploring the shops and pubs. The people were friendly and polite. The bus system was useful and I had the opportunity to rent a bike for my exploratory journeys. The Priory and the beach are interesting nearby places to visit.

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at Castle Lodge.
Large, comfortable, clean rooms, free parking, friendly hosts and a delicious breakfast made this a very enjoyable stay.
Highcliffe castle and Highcliffe beach are a short walk away which is an added bonus.
As we were going to a wedding Friday evening, the owners kindly accommodated our request for a slightly earlier check-in which was very much appreciated.
I would highly recommend Castle Lodge to anyone wishing to visit this part of Dorset.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. Our room was stunning, and we really appreciated the lovely extra touches, such as the high-quality tea and coffee selection and the provision of real milk. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Highly recommend and would certainly stay again.
The hotel is in a lovely location with a short walk to Mudeford Quay. Easy drive or bus to Christchurch. The Jetty restaurant was exceptionally good - fabulous service, food and drink. The Spa treatment was one of the best I've had.
rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, we slept so well.
staff were helpful and friendly. great bar with nice seating. communication with the hotel before the stay was fabulous, always had a speedy response.
Best hotel I have stayed at for spiffing decor, superb location, tasty restaurant and the array of associated wildlife, forest, beaches and pleasant scattered shopping precincts such as Barton and Christchurch.
