One of the best places we've stayed & we'll definitely be returning.
The Greyhound is in a quiet location, easy to find thanks to comprehensive instructions from the hosts, Doug & Kay and with an allocated parking space. The grounds are lovely, so peaceful and it was nice to be able to relax in the garden & do a little bird watching.
We chose to stay in the suite & I would highly recommend. So spacious and the hosts really have thought of everything within the accommodation. The huge four poster bed was very comfortable & bedding had a lovely, fresh smell.
Breakfast was really good; a nice continental selection along with a customisable cooked breakfast and even a wide selection of teas to choose from. We opted for the breakfast tea but we were spoilt for choice.
The Greyhound is ideally located for visiting Suffolk; only a few minutes away from both Long Melford & Lavenham and we enjoyed finding out some of the history of the building itself.
Doug & Kay are such good hosts. Really approachable, they aim to please & they achieved this so well for us. We booked on the basis of the glowing reviews we'd already read and it's a pleasure to be able to add our own high praise.

It wasn’t a usual hotel stay, that is why we loved it. Very quiet and peaceful location, in the evening and morning the only sound we could hear was birds song. Loads of space to relax, fire pit to have a BBQ.
We had everything we needed. Bathroom and kitchen facilities in a nearby small building. Everything is private and away from other people.

Walking up the grand front entrance of this magnificent imposing building we were greeted with friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff. The room 'The Grand Tour' had stunning views over the Itallienite garden. The suite had a large comfortable bed, 3 piece suite and large bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - we needed a fridge to store our medication in and within minutes one had been brought up to the room. The restaurant staff greeted us with a smile and friendly conversation, the spa treatments were sublime we went back for more. It is a family hotel and it was lovely to see all the special extras available for those travelling with families. The grounds and complimentary entrance to Ickworth House and gardens provided us with lots to do.

Beautiful property, very welcoming owners, a real home from home. A very comfortable bed led to a great nights sleep followed by a delicious cooked breakfast. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here and look forward to doing so. The local pub is superb, great food and beer. All in all a great stay. Thank you!
