East Dean itself is an attractive small old village with limited facilities but is a great launching off point if you want to go walking over the Downs.
Eastbourne is within easy reach with frequent buses, Brighton is a little further but you can catch the bus there as well.

Very friendly area & kept very clean, Tiger Inn has a good selection of local drinks & food. Transport links are good & buses if they your mode of transport reliable. If driving, excellent parking & clear road directions. Good walks, especially if you have dogs. From nearby Eastbourne through to Beachy Head, Birling Gap & down to Seaford & further lots to explore
A group of self catering cottages on the Gilbert Estate. Lovely location to the side of East Dean Village Green, with a deli, pub, coffee shop and Thai restaurant around the Green. Very good shower. Good laundry facilities in a separate area so one did not need to have drying hanging around and a good set of rubbish bins to get rid of waste.
Set in the beautiful little town of East Dean this little pub/hotel is a perfect spot to spend a night or two if you have business to do in Chichester or off to the races at Goodwood. Excellent breakfast in the morning which will set you up for the day. The hosts could not have been more hospitable. Loved it!
Absolutely friendly and gracious staff. Generous and delicious food and spacious rooms with little extras such as a nespressi machine and bottles of sparkling and still water.
We definitely recommend the Stsr and aGarter if you exploring the area around East Dean or want to drop in for a meal.
Amazing location in a walled garden within the beautiful village of East Dean. The cottage is well equipped and tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. The sunny patio is a lovely place to relax and the pub and deli are a short walk away. We loved our stay at Fig Cottage.
