Nothing was good about the property. In fact we didn’t even stay. We found alternative accommodation and stayed elsewhere

We often visit Eastbourne & the surrounding area as there is the South Downs to enjoy the countryside plus many other places nearby to visit & it’s nice to walk along the promenade to take in the fresh air & ambience. The town centre & seaside frontage has many leisure facilities facilities to offer tourists & locals alike.

Being ask not to eat pack lunch on pier was not exceptable and i would not use pier in future and the major road works this summer would not be something I would want to see again . The view from the hotel was awful and the gardens were a disgrace owing to this.. Also there was litter flying everywhere and although the road cleaning truck came every morning the litter was blown further rather then be disposed off

It's lovely place to go and chill out, take time for yourselves from busy working lives. Take some lovely strolls along the miles & miles of coastline. Visit some great bars many offering excellent beer, wine, good food, some with some great live music too. Sit in cafes, sipping some excellent coffee from independent coffee brewers and people watch, or read a book.
Great restaurants in The Meads area of Eastbourne, or if you just fancy fish & chips, you will be spoilt for choice along the seafront.

Hotel was good location, however it was very basic and the local town was dead. We arrived at 9pm and struggled to find somewhere to eat.
However, we came from London (2 hour drive) to visit Seven Sisters and it was a short easy drive in the morning. Also we got to watch a beautiful sunrise in the morning.
Basically, you get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful! We literally paid £100 for 3 former a night so no complaints!

The area near the station is a bit run down, but there are new developments. The seafront is beautiful and the climb up to Beachy Head and the South Downs is spectacular. The sightseeing trip on the open top bus a well worth doing.

Fantastic location. All staff very friendly and efficient! Had a double with sea view. Room was quite small, but adequate, with the best views of the pier and the prom! The bed was very comfortable.
We ate breakfast, which was hot, plentiful and a great variety! Had drinks in the bar after an evening out. The hotel is going through a bit of upgrade of decor inside whilst still retaining its old, original features!
Great location to explore the local area. Lots of shops and restaurants around the corner and the iconic pier to explore!
The Sheldon was very convenient to get to the seafront, the theatre and the centre of Eastbourne, as well as the beautiful Sussex downs, everything was within easy walking distance.
The staff were friendly, the room we had was spacious and comfortable, and it was useful to have a lift to the ground floor. My partner loved the decor especially the ceiling in the breakfast room and the paintings and prints throughout the hotel gave a nice quirky ambience, some of the paintings were very good.
This is not a 5 star hotel so you cannot expect it to be.
For the price you pay its more than adequate. Clean and tidy room. Lovely friendly staff and a nice breakfast with everything you would expect.
Location is perfect due to being on the seafront and no more than a 5/10 minute walk to the town centre and right opposite the pier. Our room had a lovely sea view although due to the wind and rain made it look slightly bleak.
All in all very happy with our stay.
The hotel is just across the road from the Eastbourne theatres and has an early check in so is ideal when going to the theatre. It is also very close to the seafront which makes it an ideal location.
