Lovely old inn with charm. One particularly helpful staff member - not sure of his name (about 6'2" with glasses). We didn't have linen or towel for our 3rd person who was always on the booking. Another staff member had been asked 2x but not done anything. This gentleman jumped straight to making sure we were sorted - he was great with our meal service as well. Beautiful breakfast with lots of choices.

Top notch walks and climbs on the doorstep, especially if you want to experience Kinder Scout. Best food and beer at the Old Nags Head pub. Handy train station. Can get very busy at weekends, very popular with walkers and cyclists.

Edale is a beautiful small village situated almost at the foot of the most amazing mountain roads and walks.
A pub at either end of the village with good food, good beer and a friendly atmosphere.
We absolutely loved it.

This was a February trip so the weather was often wet but there are plenty of other things to do besides walking. One minor disadvantage is the lack of a bus service in the village (we were using public transport), but trains are generally reliable from the local station and other places accessible from Hope or Hathersage. Visitor Centre was closed during February half-term - a shame as it could have been useful. Great atmosphere in this village, by day and by night. Wonderful walking

Poor Wi-Fi connection.
Poor Wi-Fi connection. When I stayed in different accommodation previously I experienced the same issue. A lovely cafe next to the train station. If it wasn’t for the length of stay I would have explored other places to eat outside Edale. Be aware that poor signal may affect your ability to park in some car parks in the area. I would advise bringing plenty of change with you.

The surrounding views are incredible and make any length of stay in Edale feel too short.
Both pubs in the village are cozy and sell great food and beer, staff are friendly and service is great.
The general shop in the village is lovely and have everything a walker or camper needs.
Amazing walks in the peaks to be had from both ends of the village.

Edale is picturesque and perfectly located for hiking Kinder Scout and Mams Tor from the doorstep. I didn’t need to drive all weekend.
No shop in village and no phone signal for miles. A couple of campsites in the village and parking £5.00 a day

Property is set in a scenic surrounding of the Peak District on a functioning Farm with Animals.
Kitchen was fully equipped with everything that you need. Two Bathrooms which is ideal for families.
You have a parking space allocated right next to the property. Free WiFi. Sitting room has a TV with a lovely view of the back garden and a Log Fire Place and wood provided. Garden has seating area and table along with a Gas BBQ. Lovely host who cares about your stay and on hand for any questions.
Perfect location as a base for walks like Kinder Scout. Felt nice and warm, both downstairs with the log fires and upstairs in the room, despite minus temperatures outside! Comfy double bed. Tasty cooked breakfast, complete with homemade jams. Welcoming staff made us feel at home. Excellent bath. Pub food delicious too - including tasty soup, perfect after a day in the hills! Parking available.
It is a beautifully presented and appointed apartment, right in the middle of Edale, very close to walks (Kinder), pubs, cafe and shop. And wonderfully quiet (church bells, a distant train and birds). Lots of parking available onsite (great for summer when it gets very busy). Just a short drive from nearby towns (Hope, Castleton and Hathersage) too.
This charming cottage, overlooking the stunning Mam Tor, is just a short stroll from Edale, a village brimming with a wonderful sense of community. The host was fantastic, and the cottage itself was beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and perfectly maintained. We can’t wait to book again!
