A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

Loved the city one of the most beautiful I’ve ever been to. The people are also so friendly and warm. Would have loved to stay more than the 3 nights we had. Walking around was hard because of all the steps but so worth it for the views.

Unfriendly and transactional -have been to Edinburgh a few times but this was the worst experience. Edinburgh is a victim of its own success - no effort required to welcome anybody - it was impersonable and cold

I was on a work trip so didn't get to see much.
I was on a work trip so didn't get to see much. But I have been before. Edinburgh is one of those world cities, with a unique character and history. If you're in the centre it's full of life, lots to do and see, lots of tourists, interesting views which ever way you look. It can feel a bit like a theme park (like central London) and not the real Edinburgh. For that you have to go out to the suburbs, like Leith, which is where I stayed and, apparently, is up and coming. I was told by a local that cost of living is through the roof, particularly property. And there's been a clampdown on AirBnB, which has pushed up the cost of hotel rooms. The grey slate of the buildings gives a unique look to the city scape - can be quite austere in a certain light, and imposing. If you like cities, this is one of the best! But cheap it ain't!

Full of Scottish history and historic buildings and monuments. Hop-on-hop-off bus tour was a great way to see the sites of the city. Conan Doyle’s Pub was just across the street from HI Express and had excellent meals. Wonderful day trip tours by bus through the countryside to The Kelpies and Loch Lomond. Loved being able to see and feed Highland cows “Hairy Coos”. They were so cute and gentle!

The location was great, only a few mins drive into the city centre with buses every few mins, including one to and from the airport (only takes 10 mins). The staff were so helpful and friendly and the accommodation was stunning. Everything was so clean and comfortable. When we had a problem, they sorted it straight away and ensured we had the best stay possible. I’ve been to Edinburgh several times in the past and this was the best property I’ve stayed at, hands down! This includes a number of chain hotels.
The hotel is conveniently located not far from the city centre: you can walk for 20-25 minutes and explore step by step this amazing city Edinburgh, or take a bus for 10 minutes. The soundproofing of the rooms is perfect, the room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and varied. Especially, my daughter liked to cook waffles herself and decorate them with various toppings. There are no complaints about the hotel staff, they are polite and friendly. So I recommend this hotel 100%!!
Great location in the city centre of Edinburgh, so we could walk everywhere. Big parking garage under the shopping center next door (the hotel is actually above the shopping center as well), which is very convenient when you go here by car. The concierge showed us the shortest and easiest way from the hotel to the car park by walking with us, which we thought was great! Comfortable beds and spacious room, overlooking the roof garden and Calton Hill.
Lovely property, handy for visiting the Christmas Market and other places in Edinburgh city centre. Small hotel with only 8 rooms but that was nice as not crowded.
Helpful friendly staff. Nice bar. Decorated beautifully for Christmas.
The Hotel was great for a night out in Edinburgh City Centre, taxi prices reasonable for a City. Plenty Parking at the Hotel, very helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and excellent breakfast, great stay, we will be back.
