Beautiful place everything was clean. Staff very kind and polite. Nothing was too much. Good range of breakfast choice although we didn’t try this time round as leaving early.. The lovely lady did give us some extra bottles of water for our journey. We will be back

Great location on the C2C. Quiet and scenic, with great beer garden at front. Lots of chickens giving it extra countryside character (& didn’t mind their noise early in the morning).

Location. Good access to Whitby and the North Yorkshire moors
With an award-winning restaurant, Dunsley Hall Country House Hotel is a historic mansion set in beautiful grounds. The hotel is in the North York Moors, just a 10-minute drive from Whitby.
The food was really good. I had chicken in a Stilton sauce with freshly prepared veg, a treat. Hubby had three courses, what can I say.
The cooked breakfast was hot and fresh and they have a nice selection of gluten free, chidrens, vegetarian and vegan menus. We ate in the bar as we had a dog with us. Comfortable rooms with lovely clean smelling bedding, TV reception not so good, we are in the wilds of North Yorkshire after all.. Proper mugs with the tea tray in the room, and fresh milk in the mini fridge. If our children where still small I would have found this helpful for storing extra drinks. Traditional country inn, comfy stay. Nice courtyard garden.

We booked the Ellerby as it was close to a wedding venue, brides family and grooms family all stayed, 16 of us in total and a dog. The staff could not have been more helpful. Ate in the restaurant, daughter is coeliac and they had a menu with a great choice, breakfast was fabulous. We had late check out till 12. Can't recommend it enough.

We wouldn't come in August again, roads far to busy and fast! But any other time of year it would be a perfect place to visit and we shall do so. Ellerby is a small, quiet, peaceful village and long may to remain. Perfect views from car park looking towards the coast. Exquisite garden, full of interesting plants and "items", find them yourself! We only had breakfasts this time but have eaten before and can recommend dining. Breakfasts have much to choose from.

Very clean, friendly owner and staff and felt really comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Bus stops right out side the hotel and the X4 ran every 30 mins either into Sands End then onto Whitby on one side and up to Saltburn on Sea, Marske on Sea, Redcar and Middlesbrough on the other side. We never used our car the whole time we were there. We had a fridge and got 2 bottles of fresh water every day and a bottle of milk put in the fridge. Tea coffee, biscuits, toiletries etc. All a lovely touch.
We took a few days' holiday after a busy festive season and are so glad we went to Ellerby Inn.
Every member of staff was super helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The hotel was warm during a real cold spell, breakfasts and evening meals were very good.
A really useful benefit was having a reliable bus service stopping right outside the front door.
We'll be back.
Excellent breakfasts, we had great evening meals as well. The hotel is family run and they really made us welcome. It’s a really old inn, loads of character. Bed was really comfy. They made our dog welcome, even gave him a sausage for breakfast
The location was great. Ellerby is a small pretty village, close to Runswick Bay and tucked away from the crowds.
The staff and new owner were fabulous! Also the pub dog!
