FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

Fabulous - but the sun was shining, so it might feel different in the cold and rain. The Cathedral was epic, the people of Glasgow welcoming, and the Royal Chambers café brilliant. Listening to Pipers and, on one occasion, a Romanian gentleman playing the accordion all added to the 'flavour' of a great city.

I took a tour bus to get a sense of the city and checked out the local arts magazines. The museums are great. To get a sense of Glasgow's ancient history, I would recommend visiting the Govan Museum and the groven stones. I went to a free piping concert at the Glasgow cathedral not far from the Z.

Such a friendly city; the guy on the street is quite the most helpful person I've encountered yet. Museums will enthrall; the pubs will welcome you; and take the Tennants tour. Taste the difference! You'll probably wish you'd spent more time here on your last day.

The hotel is on the opposite corner to Glasgow Central's Hope Street/Argyle Street entrance & exit so is extremely close for both the station & the city centre. The room was spacious, the shower/bathroom was excellent & both were spotlessly clean. The staff were excellent too, both on reception & in the bar/restaurant. Absolutely no complaints from us!

Breakfast was cooked to order which I liked and was very good. I liked the slices of fresh melon. The room was very spacious and very clean and had everything I would expect of a hotel in Glasgow. It was ideally located in the city centre but was very quiet. My room was ready when I arrived at 12.30 so that was handy.

This is an ideal hotel in a lovely old Glasgow house. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are warm and clean. Breakfast can be bought and is a good Scottish breakfast. The location is perfect for the West End and university and within easy reach of the subway and city centre.
