It was a really comfortable bed. Also the whole building looked a really interesting place from what we could see. Also the breakfast was really good. It would be a good place for a holiday in the summer when the weather is much warmer.

Hereford is a stunning county to visit. Amazing cathedral and city to visit, pedestrians only in city. Lots of cafes and places to eat. River Wye is stunning and Symmonds Yat worth a visit. Maybe you will see a Peregrin Falcon there. Lots to do. The local theatre The Courtyard always has something on. There is a fabulous Cinema as well.

Lots of history attached to Hereford Cathedral and lovely walks in this area. Good choice of bars and eating places in City. Very close to Welsh Border so some good places to visit nearby such as Leiminster, Ross on Wye.

So much history and wonderful, old buildings in quite a small, easily walkable area. The Black and White House and the Catholic church, were particularly interesting. The Mappa Mundi and Cathedral are obviously worth a visit.
The lack of cars in some streets was great. Far more relaxing without them.
Good choice of eateries (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, The Bookshop, All Saints cafe).
The outdoor market stalls were a delight but the indoor market needs a upgrade. Lots of potential.
There is also a nearby walk in the countryside along the river bank, via Victoria Bridge then back along the other side to the west.

Hereford is a pretty town, we went for the Cathedral and Map a Mundi. I think it would suit people who like to go for a bit of a shop and the town centre looked nice when we were walking through, little lanes, little cafes, little independent shops as well as some of the majors.
I enjoyed the Cathedral and the Black & White House Museum, the latter would also be good for children.
Close to lovely countryside and striking distance from Hay On Wye and other pretty towns to visit so a good hub place to be based.

I work in Hereford and was staying overnight because of an evening engagement with a late finish and I didn't want to drive home very late. I think Hereford is a great place to visit, especially now the electric Zipper buses have been introduced.

Wonderful city , full of history and character.
Wonderful city , full of history and character. Much more like a large market town , with many interesting and unique shops , not like most cities. Also just minutes away from the country side . The Court Yard theatre is a definite must , great food to the in-house restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff and the show was very good value for money .
The building is half a mile from the centre of Hereford making it an excellent choice if you plan to walk back, the beds were very comfortable albeit a little small (width and length) for a six foot tall person. The area appears safe and the b&b is located near a Sainsburys should you need it. The Alexander was also the cheapest and most available with less than a days notice in the entirety of the town. The rooms are quite clean (see cons) and the bathrooms are well equipped with showers also very clean.
The location was central and a short walk to the City centre. The room was comfortable and inviting with excellent facilities, e.g. hairdryer, iron and ironing board, smart TV and a mini fridge stocked with drinks and snacks, which were reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was top notch. All in all the hotel was the icing on the cake to a very enjoyable weekend in Hereford.
Great location, onsite parking, super friendly and helpful staff, the room was great with lovely comfy bed and great shower, and the sun beams across the balcony making it a lovely little suntrap. Good tea/coffee choices on the hospitality tray too.
Breakfast is buffet style and has all you could require to set you up for the day.
Only a few minutes from both Hereford Town centre and The Courtyard theatre.
Hosts are very friendly, my hotel on arrival at 8pm was closed, the hosts of Lyde cross took my booking at 8.30pm and made the property ready at very short notice.
Completely rescued me from a rough night in the car!!! Apart from this the property is in a beautiful location, 5minute drive from Hereford station. Quiet and very well appointed was a lovely surprise and a great place to unwind and relax.
Very comfortable hotel. We stayed in one of the townhouse rooms, well appointed, very quiet.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant where we breakfasted very well.
The hotel is well located to walk to all the main attractions in Hereford city centre.
The hotel staff clearly take pride in the family-run business and made us feel very welcome.
Good location on outskirts of Hereford. Spacious room with everything you need including an electric fan! Nice to have windows you could open - rare for some hotels - esp welcome during 30 degree heat. Paid on line via PayPal for room only but opted for breakfast in the morning. Adequate buffet plus freshly cooked breakfast.
The hotel has a genuine and lovely dated and historic charm. Some bits have been modernised but this hasn't detracted from its original historic feel. I know this isn't to everyone's liking, but it looks and feels very authentic. The staff were very nice and attentive.
I'll definitely be staying there again.
i booked this hotel when attending motocross meeting. I was impressed with this hotel and the staff. The location was ideal, very close to a Tesco, McDonald’s and other convenience stores and only 10 minutes away from where we needed to get too. Good value for money and will book again if we return to Hereford.
The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We were able to walk to Hereford City centre both days - it took just over 30 minutes each way. If we had stayed longer, we would have caught a bus to Ross on Wye or Monmouth as they go past the hotel every hour.
Wonderful location, house was clean & tidy, everything worked (TV, toaster, oven, kettle, shower etc.), rooms were spotless & furniture / fittings of good quality. Not far from Hereford which is 10-15 mins away. Bunch of Carrots pub about 5 mins away by car recommended for food.
Great location in rolling fields, but close to Hereford. Large bedroom and very good breakfast service.
Friendly guests and very helpful hotel staff took time and trouble to book taxis for us and fix the hot water problem in the morning.
Nice coffee maker in bedroom.
Warm welcome from Michael and his team, excellent pre-arrival communication including a list of recommend restaurants to eat at all within walking distance of the Hotel, one of which we used and had an excellent meal.
Our stay at Castle House was excellent. The hotel staff was accommodating and let us check-in early. Room was clean and much bigger than we expected. But the best part was the breakfast.
Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxed getaway. Was a perfect base to attend a wedding from. We will definitely be back when we visit our Hereford family & friends 😊
Very pleasant hotel right in the centre of Hereford and great for visiting local sights. The hotel building has lots of character. Room was comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.
Breakfast was outstanding, fresh good quality, and tasty. Location was good, a reasonable walk from the town centre, and far enough away to ensure a peaceful.night.
