I was brought up near Kingston, so a bit bias. Acted as tour guide to relatives from the US, and they were blown away by the history of the town and the walk along side the river, which they pronounced correctly. Suggest visiting Kingston Museum first, open on certain days of week. I have always Love my visit to Kingston upon Thames and this time was recapturing the Love that I share with my Friends in Kingston Upon Thames and it was Amazing to share with other friends this experience. My Favourite place there is the Office of Sir Edward Davey, Leader of the Liberal Democrats Party. we ate at Double Tree By Hilton. I believe that it's depending on where you are going to there are always others who are happy to help you find places. Ideal if you are visiting Hampton court palace just across the road , several restaurants around the area in walking distance if you didn’t want to eat in hotel , but you will be missing a treat , the food was faultless and the staff were amazing . Kingston is excellent for shopping and dining with a huge variety of shops and restaurants and bars. It's also ideal for visiting Hampton Court Palace and the River Thames and of course Central London as well.
